So, ages ago (in April) both Liesl and Pearl tagged me for various blog tags. And I put them off because I got busy. But I thought, These tabs have been open in my browser for awhile to remind me to get to this, so I guess I’d better do ’em.
So here I am!
I will be doing the Never Have I Ever tag and the Sunshine Blogger Award (from Pearl) and the I’ll Get Around to It Later tag (from Liesl). I’m looking forward to this, so letsa go!
Sorry. I couldn’t resist the chaotic Mario GIFs hehe.
Alright, we’ll start with the
Like I said, Pearl tagged me for this one. This is one that I’ve seen floating around for awhile and I’ve wanted to do it. And now I finally get the chance!
1. Link and thank the blogger who tagged you. ✔
2. Include the graphic somewhere in the post (or make your own!) ✔
3. Answer the questions truthfully and honestly. ✔ (Why wouldn’t I?)
4. Tag 3 bloggers. ✔
Never Have I Ever. . . .
Started a Novel I Didn’t Finish
I mean, I’ve been writing since I was five. I have notebooks upon notebooks and docs upon docs full of unfinished projects. I’m a spur-of-the-moment gal, and that results in a lot of decisions that I regret making and/or projects I just drop. I would go through and count all my unfinished novels and novellas, but that would take me ages and I’m probably missing a bunch. The total is probably around 20 or 30 by now, maybe more. 😅
Written a Story Completely By Hand
Well, besides all the picture books I wrote when I was younger, I’ve actually written a short story or two. I participated in a writing challenge on Zoom with several of my friends and I couldn’t do it near a computer so I was forced to write in a composition notebook. It was stressful because my writing speed is a lot faster on the computer (so long as I don’t get distracted 😅) and I was worried I would run out of time. Fortunately, I just barely made it!
Nine- or ten-year-old me also wrote a couple of Nancy Drew “fanfics”. There are probably others that I can’t remember right now.
OH! I almost forgot my two and a half book novella series that I poured my heart and soul into and then promptly lost the first book. I spent ages on it and I did a good bit of research for it too (which was rare for me back then hehe). I wish I knew where the first book is.
Changed Tenses Midway Through a Story
Actually, no. I mean, maybe I did in a sentence or two because I couldn’t figure out how to word it, but I’m pretty consistent with my tense. It really gets on my nerves when the tense just changes for no reason.
Not Researched Anything Before Starting a Story
Haha, if you guys could read my short story series about a college girl named Ginger, you would be able to tell that I knew absolutely nothing about college, school, romance, friendship, normal families, adoption, etc. when I wrote it. It’s a mess. I’m still really proud of it because it was my “big project” when I wrote it, but I was just a wee writer back then and apparently I didn’t know that research existed. I should rewrite it sometime. Maybe I could rewrite and post it here. That might be fun.
Changed My Protagonist’s Name Halfway Through a Draft
Yeah, in that chapter book series I mentioned earlier. The main character’s name was originally Kari Astrid, but then I changed it to Ella Astrid. Why? I dunno. Why not?
Nowadays, I get really attached to my character names (and literally everything else LOL), so I have to be careful with the “placeholder names” I choose because they usually end up not being placeholders heh. I feel like I’m betraying the character when I change their name, despite them not being real at all and probably not caring anyway. BUT THEY’RE REAL TO MEEE!!!
Written a Story in a Month or Less
What kind of story we talking? I’ve finished LOADS of short stories and picture books in, like, an hour. Or less. I’ve never done a whole novel in a month, despite attemptingNaNoWriMo several times. Maybe one day.
Fallen Asleep While Writing
Uh. No? How does one even do this? I’ve written while exhausted but like. . . . I’ve never actually fallen asleep at my computer or even in my bed while writing by hand. (I mean, not until after I put the notebook away and snuggled under the covers.)
Corrected Someone’s Grammar IRL/Online
GUYS I HAVE A STORY
Okay, so when my grandfather died, my parents went with my grandmother to help arrange the funeral. I requested to go because IDK I thought it might be interesting. The lady that was helping us figure out all the details had only had one hour of sleep that night (after being out all night doing her job), so when she typed up the obituary, she brought it back to us so we could triple-check for typos. Of course, being the grammar Nazi I am, I just had to say something, and the lady suggested I go back to her office and fix everything that was wrong. I FELT SO MEAN!! But it was lowkey kind of fun getting to sit back in her office and type on her computer all by myself. She even trusted me enough to leave me unsupervised. I mean, I would never do anything suspicious, but I’m glad she trusted me enough for that. I’m proud to announce that there were no typos in that particular news article that day. 😁
Outside of that, the amount of your/you’re typos I’ve corrected jokingly is quite extreme.
Yelled in all-Caps at Myself in the Middle of My Novel
Not at myself, but I have screamed at the world in all-caps in the middle of writing a short story hehe.
Used “I’m Writing” as an Excuse
Only to my brother. And once to my mom when she needed me and I was in the middle of a sentence. Don’t interrupt me when I’m in the middle of a sentence. I don’t want to lose it (the sentence, not my sanity).
Killed a Character That Was Based on Someone I Know in Real LIfe
How about, not yet. 😏😈
There’s a lot of chaos in the plotting world right now hehe.
Used Pop Culture References in a Story
Yeah, but it’s usually some random obscure thing that only my siblings would get, like an inside joke from a YouTube channel or TV show we might have watched, or a song our baby brother is obsessed with (looking at you Blippi *glares as the first notes of “The Excavator Song” play in the back of my head*). But I mean, I mostly write fantasy so there aren’t always opportunities for blatant references.
Written Between the Hours of 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM
Yes I have. It was in June of last year, actually. I’d set a goal for myself to write at least 250 words every day during June, and my family was taking a day trip to visit our cousins so I wouldn’t have the chance to write. Well, I couldn’t fall asleep, so I decided, why not do it now, super early in the morning? So I did. And then I stayed up longer, fell asleep at 4:30 and woke up at 6:00. It was a fun day, but the drive back home was miserable.
Now, I’m just naturally awake late (sometimes all the way to 5:00 AM) so I feel like I’ll be doing this a lot more IF I EVER ACTUALLY FINISH PLOTTING AGH
Drank an Entire Pot of Coffee While Writing
I don’t really like coffee. Although, I haven’t tried it for over a decade so maybe it’s time I give it another go. I feel very non-white girl not liking coffee. Have I betrayed my kind??
Written Down Dreams to Use in a Potential Novel
Y’all. My dreams are strangely cinematic. Why wouldn’t I?
Published an Unedited Story on the Internet/Blog/Wattpad
No. I’m not crazy. I do one proof-read and then I post! Obviously! Unedited. Pff.
Procrastinated schoolwork Because I Wanted to Write
No, but I’ve been tempted to. I didn’t because I knew I’d never get back to it and then I’d be in trouble.
Typed So Long My Wrists Hurt
Yeah, but only because my desk is so much higher than my chair. ‘Tis a steep incline.
Spilled a Drink on My Laptop While Writing
I don’t have a laptop, but my sister has one, so let me ask her.
“Nope. Never done that.”
She has a way with words, that one.
The worst I’ve done to my computer is spill goldfish on my keyboard (the crackers, not the actual fish I had when I was little. RIP Goldie. 😥), and I threw popcorn at the screen once. Hey, stuff goes down on YWW. Sometimes you just gotta throw popcorn at your friends’ profile pics.
I promise, I’m sane.
Actually. . . .
No. No I don’t. Jury’s still out on that one.
Forgotten to Save my Work/Draft
Well, I forgot to save a copy of the newsletter my family used to write and I lost EVERYTHING. Since then, I’ve been very careful about clicking the save button at random intervals. *clicks save button*
Finished a Novel
Never a full 50k word novel. But I’m currently plotting a whole series and when I finish plotting, I can actually start writing. Hopefully it won’t be too hard to reach 50k. I’m a little worried that all my plotting will be for naught.
Laughed Like an Evil Villain While Writing a Scene
Hehe, yes, with my sister reading over my shoulder. Needless to say, she was a little traumatized.
Cried While Writing a Scene
Not yet. But, I am very emotional and there are some sad scenes in my plot, so it’s probable.
Created Maps of My Fictional World
I’m working on putting the finishing touches on one right now, actually! I needed a map to get my fantasy land out of my jumbled brain. And this way, I can make sure my characters’ various quests make sense! Some of them don’t, so I’ll have to find a workaround for that. It’s been fun, but very stressful. Sometimes I feel like my brain is going to explode 😅
Researched Something Shady For a Novel
Not yet, but a have a bunch of stuff saved on Pinterest hehe.
Alright, next is the
This is my second time being tagged for this award and I think it’s my favorite because sunshine is nice. Pearl tagged me for this one!
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog. ✔
2. Answer the questions. ✔
3. Nominate eleven bloggers and ask them eleven questions. ✔ (Well, more or less.)
1. What Website or App Do You Spend the Most Time on?
Currently, it’s YouTube, but if I ever rejoin YWW, that’ll probably take the crown.
2. Do You Like Car Rides?
Depends on where I’m sitting. Squished up in the back with my siblings? Ha, no thanks. Shotgun? Sure, that’s nice. Driver’s seat at night WHILE IT’S RAINING???? Yesssss pleaseeeee!!!
3. Can You Drive / Are You Learning to Drive / Do You Like Driving?
I guess the last answer answers this question! I got my learner’s permit almost two years ago and I really like driving, so long as it’s not too chaotic. I’m absolutely atrocious at parking, but we’re getting there. I’m supposed to take my driver’s test soon so I can chauffeur my grandmother around and I’m excited about that.
4. Have You Ever Been Unconscious Before?
No, besides when I sleep. I did almost faint once, when my dad was skinning chickens, and another time out of the blue in the shower, but it’s never actually happened. Thankfully. From what I’ve heard, it does not sound fun.
5. Favorite Flower?
Okay, I know it’s basic, but I loove sunflowers! They’re just so pretty and sometimes I feel like a walking sunflower myself. I’m tall and sunny and fragile. I also really like tulips and irises and flower of the Holy Spirit orchids. And orchids in general. They’re just so nice!
6. Do You Like Listening to Music While Studying Or Doing Other THings? If So, What Kind?
I’m actually listening to music right now! (Okay, well, it’s a McDonald’s ad.) (Never mind, Love is Gone by SLANDER just came on.) I usually listen to music in the evenings when I’m browsing Pinterest or checking emails or writing blog posts. I don’t typically listen to instrumental music (despite the fact that it’s really nice), so if I were to listen to it while I do school or write a letter etc. I would get distracted really easily. Hey, sometimes you can’t resist dancing along!
As for what kind, honestly, kid, I really don’t know. There are all kinds of genres in my playlist ranging from showtunes to trap. I usually just put my playlist on shuffle and listen to whatever the heck comes on. Like, I just went from a tender love song to a way darker song about closing your eyes. (Although the singer says “close your highs” instead of “close your eyes” and it’s kind of annoying.) My music is all over the place.
7. What are Your Favorite Girl or Boy Names?
Lily Indigo Ella Gracie Artemis Noelle Rebekah (or Rebecka) Bianca Alex Heaven Delilah (I would never name my daughter this but I still really like it)
Cody Will Evan Chase Ryan Lukas Hunter Bryson Caden Logan Jacob
Huh. I just realized. Most of the girl names are just names that I’ve seen and loved, but most of the boy names are the names of guys I actually know (or used to know). That’s kind of interesting.
8. What Does Your Morning/Evening Routine Look Like?
Well, my morning routine starts with me waking up towards noon (’cause I stay up so late writing or composing or plotting or reading or–) after turning off my alarm a thousand times LOL. Then, I get on my phone, read my Bible, scroll through Pinterest, play a game, just something to wake me up. If I had a crazy dream, sometimes I’ll write it down in my journal.
Once I’m awake (more or less), I head to the bathroom and get ready, brush my hair, fret over my acne, you know, the usual. Then, I head back to my room and get dressed, make sure nobody’s texted me or anything. And then, I’ll go eat lunch (’cause it’s usually ready by the time I’m up). After that, I start on school or do something with my siblings if it’s the summer.
My evening routine is basically nothing. I get on the computer between 7:00 and 8:00 PM and stay on till around 1:00. Sometimes I get bored and get off sooner. For the past couple of nights, I’ve played Risk with my brother (we have a super old version of the game where the world is square and definitely not proportionately correct at all, but it’s still fun to play). After I get tired enough (usually around 2:00 or 3:00 AM), I’ll head to bed. Sometimes I read, sometimes I plot, sometimes I lay in bed and contemplate how weird my life is.
Oh, and I also take a shower in there somewhere. LOL
Hmm. . . . good question. I can’t really think of anything. There’s the usual “nOt LiKe OtHeR giRLs” crap. I take being a good friend very seriously, and if someone mistreats me, even in the slightest, I feel like I failed them as a friend. Maybe that’s just an anxiety thing heh.
10. Do You Have Any Hidden Talents?
For some reason, my newer friends are kind of surprised that I can draw. I gave one of my guy friends a drawing once, and he just went, “Holy COW!” and stared at it for a beat. I do like surprising people with my art skills. Their reactions are hilarious.
I can also pick up a lot of instruments really quick. Not well, mind you, but I can get the basics down pretty quick. Especially instruments that don’t require lung power 😅
11. It Would Appear That Pearl Accidentally Wrote the Same Question Twice, so I Guess There’s Only Ten Questions. Oh Well.
1. What Was the Last Song You Listened To? 2. Have You Ever Tried a Banana-Mayonnaise Sandwich? How DId You Like it? If Not, Would You Consider Trying One? 3. What is the Ratio of Real to Celebrity/Fictional Crushes You’ve Had? 4. Have You Been to the South? What Was Your Favorite Part? What Was Your Least Favorite Part? 5. How Many Blogs Are You Following? 6. Favorite VEgetable? 7. Favorite Fruit? 8. Favorite Kind of Bean? (And You Can’t Say the Toe Beans on Cats 😉) 9. Have You Ever Seen a Show on Broadway? What Show Was It? If Not, What Show Would You Like to See One Day? 10. If You Were to Be a Fugitive Under the Law, What Would be the Crime You CommiTted? (Whether Accidentally or On Purpose) 11. What is the View Out the Nearest Window?
Finally, we have
Liesl created this tag, and she tagged me for it, so I am very excited for it! Besides, I haven’t done a book tag in awhile. Maybe this will help remind me of what I need to read.

A classic book that you have been meaning to read forever but haven’t yet
Besides all the ones on last year’s reading list that I ignored?
I would really love to read The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. It sounds really interesting. I read the synopsis when I found it at the bookstore (but didn’t buy it because I knew my mom wouldn’t let me get it what with all the sexual content) and it has an interesting premise.
A book on your shelf that you haven’t read yet
Um. . . . most of them?
Cress is the third book by the Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer. I got the entire boxset for Christmas and I’m only on the second book. But I’m almost done!
*flashbacks to all the ranting I’ve done in various recap posts* *sigh*
A book that you got recently that you haven’t read
Well, the last time I went book shopping was in July and the bag is still sitting under my bed, waiting to be unloaded.
I’ve seen this book floating around and it looks interesting, so I grabbed it! (Plus it was highly recommended by one of my friends.) I’m actually really looking forward to reading it — so long as I stop procrastinating. 😅
A book that you’ve had forever but haven’t read
I read an abridged version ages ago and loved it, but the full version is a little thicker than I was prepared for. I do really love the story so maybe I can read it sometime.
A book a friend recommended that you haven’t read
I get a lot of recommendations from my friends, but this is one that I’m particularly excited for.
My friend thought I would really love the worldbuilding and if someone thinks I’m going to like the worldbuilding, then I am super excited to read the book they suggested! Besides, worldbuilding is just one of my favorite parts of writing in general.
A book you’re procrastinating on
Uhhhhh. . . . all of them?
Okay, how about this one?
When I was younger, I went through a phase where I was obsessed with Dance Moms. (I don’t know why. I’m horrified by that show now.) Maddie was one of my favorites on the show and I kind of wanted to read her book. I was quite excited to find a used copy at the bookstore, and I read the first chapter. And then stopped for some reason? So now I’m just procrastinating reading the rest of it. No idea why.
(Also, can we talk about how the heck they got that cover image? It makes my brain hurt.)
The next book on your TBR
Probably Cress, or maybe Assassins, the sixth book in the Left Behind series. If I decide to read something else, I’ll probably read The Hunger Games.
My parents are finally letting me read it, and I can’t to get in on the fandom! I’ve been in the dark for too long.
Aaannd I’ve run out of folks to tag. Y’all are welcome to pick and choose which tag(s) you do or you could do all of them, I don’t care. Or you could do none of them! Be a real pioneer!
Welp, I hope y’all enjoyed this long post of me doin’ some tags! I had a lot of fun answering the questions! If anyone who wasn’t tagged wants to steal one of the tags, go right ahead! It’s your life and your prison sentence. (Just kidding!)
Thanks for reading and I’ll see y’all in the next post (which should be a June Adventures post? Hopefully?)
On this exact day one year ago, I did the Me And Music Tag. (You can find that here) I thoroughly enjoyed it, as I am rather obsessed with music of all kinds. (Who am I kidding, music is literally my life.) As I scrolled through my old posts (yeah, I do that sometimes), I saw it and thought to myself, Huh, I reckon my music tastes have changed quite a bit since I last did this. And I have a playlist now, full of all of my favorites and then some. I should redo this tag.
So here I am.
Sometimes my reasoning is so flawless it scares me.
I’m going to do my best to not use any of the songs I listed raved over last time, but there are absolutely no promises, and it will be a miracle if I can get through this post without losing my mind. So, without further ado, off we go!
1. Link back to the original post so Sophie can see your answers and listen to the tunes. ✔
2. For every prompt you choose to do, name 1-5 songs. (Last time, I greatly ignored this rule, but I will try my very best to follow it. No promises though. I have 497+ songs to choose from 😬)
3. Have fun and play your music LOUD! ✔
Portable Sounds || TobyMac
If anyone knows me, they know that I am one massive TobyMac fan. I was raised on DC Talk and TobyMac and I still love his music SO MUCH!!!! It just keeps getting better with every song he releases! But Portable Sounds is definitely my favorite. I used to listen to this album literally every day for weeks on end.
His Story – The Musical || Anna Miriam Brown
This. Musical. Granted, it’s only an audio musical right now, but it’s so good. It’s a musical about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus but it was inspired by Hamilton, which just makes it a thousand times better. And — get this — it was written by a sixteen-year-old who knew almost nothing about songwriting and music theory. And yet she did such a beautiful job.
Twenty-One Pilots || Twenty-One Pilots
What an imaginative album name 😂 I discovered Twenty-One Pilots a couple of months ago, and I absolutely love their music so much. But their first album is by far my favorite.
Encanto || Lin-Manuel Miranda and Germaine Franco
I’m sorry guys. But who isn’t obsessed with this soundtrack? Even the instrumental music is SO GOOD!!! Expect to see more of these songs sprinkled through this post.
Belly of the Whale || Newsboys Woke up this morning kinda blue // Thinking through that age-old question: // How to exit a whale’s digestion?
My. Siblings. Are. Obsessed. With the VeggieTales Jonah soundtrack. I, on the other hand, am absolutely exhausted with it. But this song is fun. I have dedicated my life to learning that super speedy part towards the end. Haven’t succeeded yet. But I’m close. I can smell it.
Light of Christmas || TobyMac feat. Owl City Light of Christmas shining through // Our eyes, our smiles, you know it could shine on through // All the good that we do for the people that don’t have it so good
I remember listening to this song in the credits after we watched Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas, just sitting in the floor of the living room. It’s a pretty good song, and one of my favorites.
Promised Land || TobyMac Always tryin’ to do what’s right // Straight and narrow’s gettin’ tight
This one reminds me of my eternal home in Heaven.
Freedom || Pharrell Williams Your first name is Free // Last name is Dom // ‘Cause you still believe // In where we’re from
For whatever reason, this song makes me think of my old bedroom. I don’t know why. My brain is weird.
Ready For Home || Capital Kings My weary head is swimmin’ straight for your shore // I feel a calling // From the one I adore
I mean. . . . this song has “home” in the title! It reminds me of my eternal home in Heaven, too.
[I wrote this section back in March, and the charts have definitely changed since then, but I’m too lazy to go back and change it sooo]
Alrighty, I looked up Billboard’s Top 100 chart and literally all of these are TikTok/YouTube Shorts songs. And I bet most of them have language in them as well. Here are the ones I noticed.
We Don’t Talk About Bruno || Encanto Seven-foot frame // Rats along his back // When he calls your name // It all fades to black
I’m not surprised by this one.
Enemy || Imagine Dragons x JID Your words up on the wall as you’re praying for my fall // And the laughter in the halls and the names that I’ve been called
I love Imagine Dragons. This song is fun and, alas, relatable. (Also that little chuckle before the chorus just gives me so much serotoninnnnn)
Surface Pressure || Encanto Line up the dominoes, a light wind blows // You try to stop it topplin’, but on and on it goes
Well what do you know? Another Encanto song! In my opinion, this one is better than WDTAB, but that’s just me.
The Family Madrigal || Encanto Look, it’s Mr. Mariano, hey // You can marry my sister if you wanna but // Between you and me, she’s kind of a prima donna // Yo, I’ve said too much and thank you but I really gotta go!
HEY IT’S ANOTHER ONE
Boyfriend || Dove Cameron I don’t need to tell you twice // All the ways he can’t suffice
Content Warning: If you want to listen to this one, definitely look up the clean version. There’s quite a bit of language sprinkled throughout.
I really just listen to this song for the beat. It’s pretty good. The lyrics are a little weird though. Although it does make a good character song.
Numb Little Bug || Em Beihold Do you ever get a little bit tired of life // Like you’re not really happy but you don’t wanna die // Like you’re hanging by a thread but you gotta survive? // ‘Cause you gotta survive
This one is relatable as heck, and pretty dang catchy.
What Else Can I Do? || Encanto I’m so sick of pretty, I want something true, don’t you?
OH MY GOODNESS IT’S ANOTHER ONE
Dos Oruguitas || Encanto Ay, mariposas, no se aguanten más // Hay que crecer aparte y volver // Hacia adelante seguirás
Ah, there it is. My favorite Encanto song. I literally cry whenever I listen to it.
Waiting on a Miracle || Encanto Can’t keep down the unspoken invisible pain // Always waiting on a miracle
AND YET ANOTHER ONE
Insane || Black Gryph0n and Baasik Hey! Sorry, but you just got in my way // I promise honey, I can feel your pain // And maybe I enjoy it just a little bit // Does that make me insane?
Content Warning: Demons, hell, murder, etc.
I am obsessed with this song. Admittedly, it’s a bit dark, but it is sO AMAZING!!!!! Literally, I can’t help but pretend I’m in a music video. And yes, I will be the first to admit that I have issues.
Catchy Song ||The Lego Movie 2 This song is now in your brain // And in your brain it will remain!
No, I am not going to apologize.
Blood // Water || grandson When the last tree’s fallen, the animal can’t hide // Money won’t solve it // What’s your alibi?
Content Warning: So, looking up the lyrics, I realized this song is actually quite dark, so listen at your own risk, I guess.
This one is also kind of dark, but it’s fantastic at the same time. As you will notice throughout this post, I have a rather interesting taste in music.
Greedy || OR3O feat. Swiblet Welcome to my casino, lads, are you down for a deal tonight? // Let’s see if the luck is in your hands, if you’re ready come on and roll the dice
Content Warning: Gambling, murder, the devil. Gosh, why are all these songs so dark?
Anddddd, this is a Cuphead song. I usually ignore if a song was written for a video game or something, and just focus on the song.
The Run and Go || Twenty-One Pilots You’ll have to watch me struggle // From several rooms away // But tonight I’ll need you to stay
Content Warning: Implications of murder, mention of demons (but not, like, seriously or anything), evasion of authorities?
I don’t think I’ll ever understand why TOP put such a heavy topic to such a bouncy, fun tune, but I love it nevertheless.
Cake || Melanie Martinez You smell just like vanilla // You taste like buttercream // You’re filling up my senses // With empty calories
Content Warning: An unhealthy relationship, I guess
Follow You || Imagine Dragons Taking those, taking those losses if it treats you right // I want to put you into the spotlight
I. LOVE. This song. It’s definitely at the top of my favorites list. The tune and the lyrics and the theme just ahhhhh it’s so gooddddd.
House of Memories || Panic! at the Disco And when your fantasies // Become your legacy // Promise me a place // In your house of memories
I feel like this song would make a pretty good prompt for a short story or something. And it works pretty well for several of my characters.
Monster || Imagine Dragons If I told you what I was // Would you turn your back on me? // And if I seem dangerous // Would you be scared?
This is another one that I pretend I’m in a music video for. And, in my opinion, it makes the perfect character theme song.
Join Us For a Bite || JT Music We’re only playing // Just wanted to make a few new friends // You plan on staying? // When you’re with us, the party never ends
Content Warning: Cannibalism, I guess? Also, general insanity.
This song was written as a Five Nights as Freddy’s theme song, but I know literally nothing about FNAF, so I listen to this song for the beat. It is SO FUN to dance to. I’m obsessed.
Live For the Drop || Capital Kings What we have, it can’t be bought // What we do, it can’t be taught
How can I resist dancing to a song that is literally focused around the drop?
The HampsterDance Song || Hampton the Hampster Alright, everybody now here we go // It’s a brand new version of the do-si-do
I am genuinely very sorry for having this on my list. But. . . . it’s a bop, sooo. . . .
Take Me As I Am || Lecrae I thought at first I had to clean up my life // Now I’m hearin’ I just need to cling to the Light // I’m ready to do it, but Lord, I pray You understand // My life is a mess, will You take me as I am?
Content Warning: Hell and the Devil (obviously), death/crucifixion (also obviously)
This. Is. Amazing. Definitely one of my favorite Lecrae songs. And painfully relatable.
Feeling Good || Michael Bublé Stars, when you shine // You know how I feel // Scent of the pine // You know how I feel
Literally the only Michael Bublé song I’ve ever heard, but it is SO fun. I love it a lot.
Unity || TheFatRat Keep on walking to the sound of the drums // Feel the fire run through our lungs // Find our treasure in the light of the sun // And show the whole world who we are
You know when you’re listening to a great song, and you just can’t help but smile because it’s so amazing? Yeah, that happens when I listen to this song. SO good.
Thumbs || Sabrina Carpenter Somewhere in the world, you got a robber and a bank // And the bank robbed the people, so the people rob the bank // And the police came to get him, but they let him get away // ‘Cause they’re all just workin’ to get paid the very same
Content Warning: Robbery (as proved above)
The BEAT on this song is AMAZING!!! And it’s so catchy!!
You’ll Never Be Alone || Capital Kings Sometimes life is an ocean // We’re just trying to flow // We get caught in slow motion // From the undertow
This song always gets my toes tapping.
Natural || Imagine Dragons ‘Cause you’re a natural // A beating heart of stone // You gotta be so cold // To make it in this world
AHH, the bass is inCREDIBLE on this song!!!! SO fun to dance to!
Invisible || Julius Dreisig & Zeus X Crona Do you think that I’m invisible?
I have no words.
Oh no. Broadway.
Okay, okay, calm down. I’ll just list the songs that are actually in my playlist from movies/TV/Broadway, because I have a surprising amount of favorites that aren’t in my playlist for whatever reason.
Six || Six You could perhaps call us // The Tudor Von Trapps // I’m just kidding // We’re called the Royalling Stones
I really enjoy all of Six, albeit a little inappropriate (but, let’s be honest, what Broadway musical isn’t inappropriate to a degree?), but this song is my favorite. It’s the finale and it has a pretty different feel to the rest of the show.
Moral of the Story || Ashe Some mistakes get made // That’s alright, that’s okay // You can think that you’re in love // When you’re really just in pain
Content Warning: Language, an unhealthy relationship?
I think this is from Netflix, but I heard it on YouTube. It’s kind of calming. There is one swear word in the bridge, which is annoying, but I just looked up the clean version.
First Burn || Lin-Manuel Miranda Heaven forbid someone whisper // “He’s part of some scheme” // Your enemy whispers // So you have to scream!
Content Warning: Cheating 😦
I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY LIN CUT THIS SONG FROM HAMILTON!!!!! IT’S SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE SONG IN THE SHOW!!!! But, at least he published it so we could lose our marbles over it.
She Used to Be Mine || Waitress She’s imperfect but she tries // She is good but she lies // She is hard on herself // She is broken and won’t ask for help
I hate this song as much as I love it. It’s so beautiful and so sad and there’s just so much emotion in it. I would want to perform Waitress just for this one song 😅
Little Girls (2014) || Annie (2014) Locked in a cage with all the rats // I’ve slipped through the cracks and now I’m // Stuck with the scraps and I can’t // Seem to find my way back
I’ve never seen the movie, but I like the song, so *shrugs*
Entertain Me || Bridgerton: The Musical I’m not crazy, but my sanity is circling the drain
Content Warning: Implications of murder
Fool For You || Bridgerton: The Musical I can fight my own battles // And I won’t be a fool for you
I’ve also never seen Bridgerton, but the demo musical that Barlow and Bear wrote is really good. These are my two favorites.
Wait For Me || Hadestown But if all you got is your own two legs // You best be glad you got ’em
Content Warning: Death
I’m gonna be honest, I had high expectations for Hadestown, and it kind of let me down. But I did enjoy this song, so y’know.
Everything is Awesome (Tween Dream Remix) || The Lego Movie Everything is awesome // When you’re living out a dream
Okay, I mean, this is a classic. And the remix is a bop.
Miracle Whip || The Fold They say “No, No” // We say “Go, Go”
Clearly I am still a child who has a taste in Lego shows. But Lego Ninjago is fantastic, as is the music. This is my favorite out of all the songs.
He Lives In You || The Lion King 2 He lives in you // He lives in me//He watches over//Everything we see
Never seen the movie. Love the song though.
Goodnight, Sweet Possums || Ice Age
*melts* BUT WHY’S IT GOTTA BE SO SHORTTTTT– Fortunately, I found a video with the melody looped for three minutes, so that’s great.
My Jolly Sailor Bold || Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides My heart is pierced by Cupid // I disdain all glittering gold // There is nothing can console me // But my jolly sailor bold
At the time of writing this, I haven’t seen the movie, but I found the song on YouTube, and it’s so haUNTING AND I LOVE IT HALP
Edit: I’ve seen the movie, and I think that’s my favorite mermaid/siren design I’ve ever seen. Amazing.
Test Drive || How to Train Your Dragon
Also haven’t seen this movie, and also found this song on YouTube. It’s so majestic.
Remember Me || Coco For even if I’m far away // I hold you in my heart // I sing a secret song to you // Each night we are apart
Entertaining Angels (O2R Remix) || Newsboys Close as a brother // The way we used to be // I’ll hold my breath // And I’ll wait for you to breathe
I don’t know why, but I just get hit with a massive wave of nostalgia whenever I hear this song. I have vague memories of listening to it when I was little, so I guess that’s why. Although, I still have no idea what the lyrics mean.
Give Me Your Eyes || Brandon Heath Step out on the busy street // See a girl and our eyes meet // Does her best to smile at me // To hide what’s underneath
In seventh grade, I went to a week-long music camp and one of my classes was drama. We didn’t perform a play or anything, but we acted out a little story on top of this song. I played the stressful part of Jesus. It was great.
Light Up the Sky || The Afters So I’ll run straight into Your arms // You’re the bright and morning sun // To show Your love, there’s nothin’ You won’t do
I heard this song on the radio all the time, and forgot about it when I got older. One of my favorite feelings is when something triggers a little something inside your brain and you grasp at that thought, trying to remember what on earth was triggered. That happened on the way to the aforementioned music camp last year. I’m glad I remembered it because I really love this song.
Monody || TheFatRat feat. Laura Brehm Summer in the hills // Those hazy days I do remember // We were running still // Had the whole world at our feet
Some people come up with the weirdest artist names. Anyway, this song was in a game me and my brother played when we were little, and I recently rediscovered that game, so y’know.
Ooh Ahh (My Life Be Like) || GRITS feat. TobyMac The fear of never falling in love // And the tears after losing the feelings of what you thought love was // Like the dirt still up under the rug // My life be like bad characteristics covered in Christ’s blood
I went through a phase where I was obsessed with this song, and sometimes my dad would randomly play it in his truck, because he knew I was obsessed with it. One of these days I’m going to learn all the words.
While You Were Sleeping || Casting Crowns United States of America // Looks like another silent night // As we’re sung to sleep by philosophies // That save the trees and kill the children
The choir at our old church performed this during a Christmas program awhile back, and ahhh it’s such a good songgg!!
Your Door Was Locked || Element Animations How could this happen so close to Christmas day? // He just took all of the presents and ran away!
Element Animations was my childhood, and this song is just so goofy. It’s quite a fascinating story told, as well.
Start Over || Flame feat. NF So dry your eyes, lift up your head // Hallelujah, God is not dead
I’ve heard this song since I was just a wee lass, and I still love it to this day.
Joyful Noise || Flame He paid the sin price, being beat by Roman guards // But when He resurrected, gave us a life free of charge // Now me and my boys need to be in a psych ward // ‘Cause we went crazy for God, our lives was scarred
Also grew up with this song. It’s fantastic. The wordplay is so fun.
I Will Follow || Chris Tomlin Who You love, I’ll love // How You serve, I’ll serve // If this life I lose // I will follow You
I will admit, I’m not that big of a Chris Tomlin fan, but this song’s alright. And it’s a good message.
I Hear a Symphony || Cody Fry With simple songs I wanted more // Perfection is so quick to bore // You are more beautiful by far // Our flaws are who we really are
The piano in this song reminds me of listening to the song during the offering at my childhood church. It was usually a pretty arrangement of some song played on the piano.
Cake By the Ocean || DNCE I-I-I-I-I-I keep on hopin’ we’ll eat cake by the ocean
Content Warning: There is language in this song. So yeah.
I know I heard this song when I was younger, because the nostalgia hit is unbelievable. It’s pretty good. Although the lyrics are SO weird.
Is this not the whole post? I mean, how could I possibly not sing to the songs I love? Fine, fine, I’ll pick some of my favorites.
Among Us Song [Imposter Imperceptible] || NerdOut feat. JT Music, GameboyJones, Bonecage, Loserfruit, TheOrionSound, Classify Somewhere within these walls, a villain does exist // It walks inside the halls // And crawls beneath the surface of your ship
Content Warning: Murder, knives, I think there’s some language, various other Among Us nonsense
I hate that I like this song. I don’t really like Among Us, I’m tired of the Internet’s obsession with it, but THIS SONG is amazingly catchy. NerdOut, how could you brainwash me like this?? The rhythm is BEAUTIFUL, though. Definitely my favorite style of rap. I don’t know how to explain it, just go listen to it!!
Why Can’t I? || Liz Phair Why can’t I breathe whenever I think about you? // Why can’t I speak whenever I talk about you?
Content Warning: Language
Can I just say, this song is one big, fat mood.
I Knew You Were Trouble || Taylor Swift And the saddest fear comes creeping in // That you never loved me, or her, or anyone, or anything
I’m not that big of a Taylor Swift fan, but I have fallen in love with this song. It’s so catchy and fun, and it makes a great character song.
Born Without a Heart || Faouzia I’d rather be heartless // Than have my heart in pieces
Wow, what a name. But this song makes a great character song, and I love it immensely.
Something Beautiful || Tom Walker We find the light on darker days // We seize the joy through all the pain
I just. . . . I don’t even know what to say.
GRRRLS || AViVA I am the latest colors, I stand above my throne // Waiting for an invite to never come along
Content Warning: Maiming. . . . I guess?
I have absolutely fallen in love with the fast paced-ness of this song. Like. . . . it’s so good.
Brave || Sara Bareilles Nothing’s gonna hurt you the way that words do
Pompeii || Bastille And the walls kept tumbling down // In the city that we love // Gray clouds roll over the hills // Bringing darkness from above
Why do the lyrics of this song work for so many situations? Also, someone please tell me I’m not the only one who sings songs based off of something someone has said, because I do that a lot.
Friend, Please || Twenty-One Pilots Friend, please remove your hands from // Over your eyes for me // I know you want to leave but // Friend, please don’t take your life away from me
Content Warning: Implications of suicide (as proved above)
I. LOVE. THIS SONG. So so so pretty.
The Judge || Twenty-One Pilots But I’m not good with directions // And I hide behind my mouth // I’m a pro at imperfections // And I’m best friends with my doubt
I taught myself this song on my uke. I really just don’t understand how TOP are so good at writing songs! It’s not fair!
Ride || Twenty-One Pilots “I’d live for you” and that’s hard to do // Even harder to say, when you know it’s not true // Even harder to write, when you know that’s a lie
Content Warning: Bullets?
Oh gosh. I think I have an obsession. *cough*
Record Player || Daisy the Great x AJR I’ve got a record player that was made in 2014 // Dyed my hair blue, it came out a seasick sort of green // I like vintage dresses when they fall just below my knees // I pretend I scraped ’em climbing in the trees
I found this song because a bunch of people were doing a “one breath challenge” where they were trying to sing the whole chorus in one breath. It’s actually really easy. I do it every time the song comes on 😅
Trust In You || Lauren Daigle When You don’t move the mountains // I’m needing You to move // When You don’t part the waters // I wish I could walk through
I can’t get over how catchy the chorus is!!
Heart of Stone || Britt Nicole They say that the armor makes you strong // I might be safe but I’m all alone // Been hiding from the Light for way too long // Tell me You can break this heart of stone
Oh gosh. I still don’t really listen to old music. Let’s see what I can find.
Africa || Toto (1982) It’s gonna take a lot to drag me away from you // There’s nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
Dang, this song is older than I thought. Huh.
Blue (Da Ba Dee) || Eiffel 65 (1998) I have a blue house // With a blue window // Blue is the color of all that I wear
I mean, it’s not that old, but it was in the 90s. That was a long time ago. And I love the KNY Factory remix.
Bye, Bye, Bye || ‘N Sync (2000) Don’t really want to make it tough // I just want to tell you that I’ve had enough
Before my time? Yeah, it’s old. Definitely. Also, sidenote, I didn’t realize ‘N Sync existed so long ago. I thought they were more recent. Maybe I’m thinking of One Direction.
What If I Stumble? || DC Talk (1995) Did they see the fear in my eyes? // Are they so revealin’? // This time I cannot disguise // All the doubt I’m feelin’
I love DC Talk. And I forgot this song existed until it came on my Pandora station, and I was like, “Well, another song for my playlist!”
Put Your Head On My Shoulder || Paul Anka (1959) Put your lips next to mine, dear // Won’t you kiss me once, baby? // Just a kiss goodnight, maybe // You and I will fall in love
This is probably the oldest song I’ve ever liked. I’m usually not a big fan of music this old, but this one just caught my attention, for whatever reason. I’ll probably play it at my wedding.
Tom’s Diner || Suzanne Vega (1987) I finish up my coffee // It’s time to catch the train
Okay, technically, I like the AnnenMayKantereit x Giant Rooks cover better, but the original is still pretty good.
Alpha || C418
I mean, it would be a crime to not have this song in this section. Minecraft was my childhood guys. I feel like most people don’t like this song because they’ve only heard the beginning, but towards the middle when it gets to that string part. . . . *chef’s kiss* Absolute masterpiece.
Unstoppable || Sia All smiles // I know what it takes to fool this town // I’ll do it ’til the sun goes down and all through the night time
Alright, so, me and my sister were sitting on the couch while my dad watched his sports (it was either football or basketball, I don’t remember which), when a Samsung commercial came on. Andddd it had this song. I just looked at my sister and she looked at me, and we burst into laughter.
Goin Down || Group 1 Crew And I ain’t gotta let you know what it is // Too cool for these kids, where the fridge?
I had this song stuck in my head when I went to the orthodontist for the first time, and now it reminds me of the orthodontist and vice versa. Brains, man. They’re so weird.
Reverb || Jamie Grace I can write a song but can’t right my wrongs // I’m a broken vessel like the rest of y’all
When my sister first got her mp4 player (like an mp3 player, but with a ✨ different number ✨), some of the first songs she downloaded were those by Jamie Grace. Reverb was one of them, and we used to stay up late listening to the music and horsing around. It took me forever, but I eventually memorized the whole rap. Yeah, I’m cool like that.
Priceless || for KING & COUNTRY I see you dressed in white // Every wrong made right // I see a rose in bloom // At the sight of you
This song always makes me think of white roses and cellos, which then makes me think of white cellos, and honestly, my brain is weird.
There will probably be a lot of these. Brace yourself.
Truth Be Told || Matthew West There’s a sign on the door, says, “Come as you are” but I doubt it // ‘Cause if we lived like it was true, every Sunday morning pew would be crowded
Guys. This. Song. Something I’ve learned in the past several years is that “I’m fine” and “I’m just tired” are usually a cry for help. Be careful with these phrases.
Grow As We Go || Ben Platt When you’re high, I’ll take the lows // You can ebb and I can flow // And we’ll take it slow // And grow as we go
Okay, but Ben Platt’s voice is just. . . . a masterpiece. A freaking work of art. Like, sir??? Why you so talented???????? I looove his music. This song is one of my favorites.
Hold Her || for KING & COUNTRY Hold her tonight // Oh, God, would you hold her tonight? // ‘Cause I’m not there to stay close, keep watch, tell her she’s not alone // Hold her tonight
Honestly, Joel and Luke are so sweet with their wives. This song is just ahhhh!!
I have no words. The entire song is a *chef’s kiss*
Control || for KING & COUNTRY I will raise my voice and sing // It’s all I’ve got left to bring
My gosh, the chorus though. SO good.
We Trust || His Story the Musical So we trust that You’re here // We trust that You’re holding us // Through every storm You’re making us brave // You call the lame to walk on the waves
There’s nothing quite like the calmer songs in musicals. They’re almost like lullabies, but with more drums. And His Story has such beautiful songs.
Blessings || Laura Story ‘Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops? // What if Your healing comes through tears? // What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near?
Speaking of lullabies. I used to listen to this song when I couldn’t sleep.
Hallelujah || Leonard Cohen (but especially the Pentatonix version) Now I’ve heard there was a secret chord // That David played, and it pleased the Lord // But you don’t really care for music, do you?
Content Warning: Love things
I don’t think my love for this song will ever go away. Sometimes, I’m just awed by songwriters’ abilities.
God of Heaven Saints before, He’s guided safely // History’s pages signed by Him // Author of our days and hours // Things to come are held secure
I have no idea who wrote this song, but it’s a masterpiece. Especially when performed right. I was able to perform it with the adult choir back in middle school at church and that was SO MUCH FUN.
Like My Father || JAX And if he lives up to my father // Maybe he could teach our daughter // What it takes to love a queen // She should know she’s royalty
Who gAVE HER THE RIGHT?!!?!?!?
Ring Pop || JAX Oh, we got all we’ll ever need // I think our grass is pretty green
Again, hOW DARE SHE?!?!??!?!
Perfect || Ed Sheeran Baby, I’m dancing in the dark, with you between my arms // Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song // When I saw you in that dress, looking so beautiful // I don’t deserve this, darling, you look perfect tonight
All I’m saying is, if my future boyfriend doesn’t randomly turn this on and ask me to dance, then What Is The Point™?
the author || luz I don’t wanna stay here // I wanna be in your arms by the sea // Studying your freckles curiously // Focused on your eyes so delicately
As a writer, I approve. And the lyrics are so aesthetic!!
Supermarket Flowers || Ed Sheeran I hope that I see the world as you did ’cause I know // A life with love is a life that’s been lived
I feel like this song would make a great funeral song. Maybe I’ll have it at mine. Although, if I keep choosing funeral songs at the rate I’m going, my funeral will be a straight concert.
Before You Start Your Day || Twenty-One Pilots Look in the mirror // And ask your soul // If you’re alright // Put out the glitter // That your soul // Hides behind
If I don’t get a boyfriend who sings something like this to me to put me to sleep at least once, then, again, What Is The Point™™??
Taxi Cab || Twenty-One Pilots And then one turned around to say // We’re driving toward the morning sun // Where all your blood is washed away // And all you did will be undone
Content Warning: Death
Oh Ms Believer || Twenty-One Pilots We get colder // As we grow older // We will walk // So much slower
CWJBHN || Jake Scott Even if we burn this down // Even if we can’t be friends // ‘Cause you hate me in the end // Can we just be happy now?
The harmonies though.
Surrender || Natalie Taylor We let the waters rise // We drifted to survive // I needed you to stay // But I let you drift away
This song is the most calming song I’ve ever heard. At first, I didn’t really like it, but it started growing on me, and then, well, the rest is history.
Jungle || Emma Louise And I’m complicated, you won’t get me // I have trouble understanding myself
Okay, the lyrics kind of contradict the category I put this in, but there’s just something about Emma Louise’s voice. It pretty.
Never Seen Anything (Quite Like You) || The Script Well, I’ve seen you in jeans with no make-up on // And I’ve stood there in awe as your date for the prom // I’m blessed as a man to have seen you in white // But I’ve never seen anything quite like you tonight
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, if my future boyfriend doesn’t sing this to me, then What Is The Point™™™???
Memories || Maroon 5 There’s a time that I remember when I never felt so lost // When I felt all of the hatred was too powerful to stop
This one makes me sad, but it’s so lovely.
This Isn’t the End || Owl City An eight year old girl had a panic attack // ‘Cause the father she loved left and never looked back // No longer the hero, she counted on // He told her he loved her and then he was gone
Content Warning: Suicide
So Will I || Ben Platt The mountains won’t start moving // And the rivers won’t run dry // The world will always be there // And so will I
Runaway || AURORA And I was dancing in the rain // I felt alive and I can’t complain
You Are Enough || Sleeping At Last When we grew up, our shadows grew up too // But they’re just old ghosts that we grow attached to // The tragic flaw is that they hide the truth // That you’re enough, you’re enough, you’re enough
Let Her Go || Passenger Only know you’ve been high when you’re feeling low // Only hate the road when you’re missing home // Only know you love her when you let her go // And you let her go
Now this, is a fantastically sad song. Aaaahh!
This Is Home || Cavetown Get a load of this monster // He doesn’t know how to communicate // His mind is in a different place // Will everybody please give him a little bit of space?
Content Warning: Death, and general haunting-ness
The ukulele, though. I especially love the Sarah In the Bathroom x This Is Home mashups. They’re so pretty and they blend surprisingly well.
Training Wheels || Melanie Martinez I love everything you do // When you call me really dumb for the stupid things I do
Content Warning: Language, relationship things
I don’t know, I just like how unconventional this song is. The accompaniment is gorgeous.
Home || KUN We are not alone // We’re going home // No pain will last forever
So pretty and simple and angeliccccc
Hmm. I don’t typically cry at songs, but let’s see what I can find.
hey siri || salem ilise Hey Siri, could you tell how to fix my broken heart // No one made it stop // I just can’t get it to start
I just. . . . I don’t even know what to say. It’s just so sad. Someone needs to give Salem a hug.
Human || Christina Perri Your words in my head, knives in my heart // You build me up and then I fall apart // ‘Cause I’m only human
I think Christina Perri needs a hug, too.
Two Oruguitas || Lin-Manuel Miranda Wonders await you // Just on the other side // Trust they’ll be there // Start to prepare // The way for tomorrow
I know, I know, I’ve already done this song, but AHHHH IT’S SO GOODDDDDD
Don’t Cry || Maddie Malekos Just don’t cry // Let’s pretend we see blue skies // Let’s pretend that we’re all good, won’t fall apart // ‘Cause we’re all good, no need to restart
Maddie wrote this song and posted it on TikTok in two parts, and someone made a video of both the parts together, and I have adopted that video into my playlist, the end. And yes, contrary to the title, I do cry.
Exile || Taylor Swift I think I’ve seen this film before // And I didn’t like the ending // You’re not my homeland anymore // So what am I defending now?
Okay, but why is this song so sad?? Taylor needs a hug, too!
If You Could See Me Now || The Script Would you call me a saint or a sinner? // Would you love me, a loser or a winner? // When I see my face in the mirror // We look so alike that it makes me shiver
Content Warning: Death, a little bit of language, drinking, smoking
My empathy is off the charts with this one. I think he needs a hug wHY DOES EVERYONE NEED A HUG FOR HEAVEN’S SAKES
Heaven (Fix Things) || Jamie Grace Everything that’s broken is in Your hands // And You hold the power to turn mountains into sand // And You can make a river out of dry land // But You won’t always fix things // On this side of Heaven
Madam, who gAVE YOU THE RIGHT
Pass It On || Kurt Hugo Schneider Like the happiness you bring // Or the harmony you sing // Everybody needs some love in their life
How dare this man be so talented? My tears do not come from sadness, they come from amazement and awe and also how pretty the song is.

The absolute emotion in this song is incredible. I just. . . . wow.

Just. . . . sadz.
Catchafire (Whoopsi-Daisy) || TobyMac Spark to a flame, I’m flippin’ up my game // I caught the fire and I’ll never be the same
The beat, though. Definitely very energizing.
joy. || for KING & COUNTRY Back when I was young, my eyes were full of life // But now that I am older, I live at the speed of light
I love the story told in the music video. Too often, people are focused on the bad. More people should focus on the good. I mean, no wonder so many people are depressed and anxious.
Legends Never Die || Against the Current When everything’s lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat // Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
Definitely one of my favorites. The chorus is incredible.
Good Day || Nappy Roots We’re gonna have a good day // And ain’t nobody gonna cry today // ‘Cause ain’t nobody gonna die today! // Save that drama for another day // Hey, we’re gonna have a good day
Who doesn’t want to have a good day?
Well, I’m not sure how many of these I can think of, but we’ll see what I’ve got.

What Other People Say || Sam Fischer & Demi Lovato I used to not take chances with God’s name // But it’s been so long since I last prayed // And now I’m all messed up and my heart’s changed // ‘Cause I care more about what other people say
I do not like how relatable this song is. But this line is just *chef’s kiss*.
Y’know, I think all the songs with good lyrics are interspersed throughout this post, so, yeah, I don’t really have anything good to put here. Oh well.
I’m not usually one for music videos, but I have a couple.
Love Me Like I Am || for KING & COUNTRY It’s amazing that You can // Love me like I am // Even when I can’t //You still love me as I am
Okay, first of all, who gave Luke and Joel the rIGHT TO DO THIS TO ME?!??!? I just clicked on the video like, ooh, cool, new fK&C song, and then THIS SONG HAPPENED LIKE ?????? THAT’S NOT OKAY!!!!! But, fr, it’s a good song. Check it out.

Can I just say, best Christmas song ever. I love these guys.
For God Is With Us || for KING & COUNTRY Dare to imagine // Dare to believe in // A true love that gave us // A reason for living
This video does things to me. The transitions are 🔥🔥🔥 Please, if you don’t watch any of the other videos, watch this one. You won’t regret it.
Band of Gold || The Gray Havens Yes, I threw away the key // That bound my heart to yours // To the bottom of the sea // I don’t need it anymore
This video is so cute! I love the story. Also, if I don’t have this song at my wedding, I will literally fight someone.
I actually don’t have any for this one.
Heehee, I have a lot of these. . . .
Isle of Flightless Birds || Twenty-One Pilots I am cold, can you hear? // I will fly with no hope, no fear // And the ground taunts my wings // Plummet as I sing, plummet as I sing
Content Warning: Mentions of suicide and demons
Okay, is it just me, or does the accompaniment make one epic villain song? Like, I can’t stop listening to it. It’s amazing.
You’re Somebody Else || Flora Cash Well you look like yourself // But you’re somebody else // Only it ain’t on the surface
Hermit the Frog || MARINA When my heart just burst like a glass balloon // I let it fly too high and it shattered too soon
Content Warning: Language, mentions of the devil (I don’t know if that would trigger anyone, but just in case)
I’m still yet to figure out what this song is about, but I like the tune, soooo. . . .
Pity Party || Melanie Martinez It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to // Cry if I want to // I’ll cry until the candles burn down this place // I’ll cry until my pity party’s in flames
Content Warning: Language
The beat is just fanTASTic!!!
El Baile Madrigal || Germaine Franco
This one is my favorites out of all the instrumental tracks of Encanto. ‘Tis catchy.
otherside || Lena Raine
At this point, I think the entire Minecraft community is in agreement that this is the best music disc ever.
Little Lion Man || Mumford and Sons And it was not your fault but mine // And it was your heart on the line // I really messed it up this time // Didn’t I, my dear?
Content Warning: Language
This song. Is the perfect character song. I just– ahhhh it’s perfecttttt!
prom queen || Molly Kate Kestner And she’s got the looks and the boys on hooks // But she’d trade it all for a heart that’s whole
Content Warning: This song’s a little bit risqué, so it just depends what you’re comfortable with 🤷♀️
This song is incredible. I have no words.
Everything Black || Unlike Pluto feat. Mike Taylor In a nocturnal state of mind // Children of the night // But it’s the only way of life
This is like “Blue” but about black stuffs. It’s cool. I like it.
Ticking || TIN
Idk why, but this song makes me happy 😊
The Easy Way || His Story the Musical I can make You squirm // ‘Til You don’t know what to say // So take my advice // And take the easy way
Content Warning: The devil (obviously)
Easily my favorite song in the whole musical. In this song, Satan is tempting Jesus and the style is just *chef’s kiss* SO good.
Who I Am || His Story the Musical I don’t know how to stop it // It’s like ropes are being tied to my hands // I’m becoming someone’s puppet // Numbness grows, darkness expands // Things are going blurry // I’m losing all control // But somehow I don’t feel worried // When I’m walking with the pull
Content Warning: The devil (also obviously)
Probably my second favorite. This is the song where Judas decides to betray Jesus, and it’s so haunting and beautiful and mysterious, like ahhhh
Let’s see if I can find any that haven’t been placed in other categories.
Run Away || Ben Platt He wrote her poems, songs, and prose // She knew that he’d propose // She only wondered when
The story in this song is precious. I looove the recurring themes and ahhh it’s just such a clever song!
Bleeding Out || Imagine Dragons I’m bleeding out // So if the last thing that I do // Is bring you down // I’ll bleed out for you
Content Warning: Blood (no, duh)
Is this a love song? Sure. Sure it is. It also makes a great character song.
Without You || for KING & COUNTRY What do you do when you don’t get better? // Strong arms get too, get too weak to hold her // Oh God, give me just enough strength to make it through
This is an adorable song that Luke wrote for his wife and her vocals really add to the melody. Such a masterpiece.
Praying For You || Mandisa For rich or for poor // May not have much but this I’m sure // Until my dream comes true // I’ll be praying for you
I just. . . . this song is so cute.
Shower || Becky G You light me up inside // Like the Fourth of July // Whenever you’re around // I always seem to smile
Painfully relatable, this one is.
Stereo Hearts || Gym Class Heroes feat. Adam Levine I only pray you’ll never leave me behind // Because good music can be so hard to find // I take your hand and pull it closer to mine // Thought love was dead, but now you’re changing my mind
The music analogies in this one are so fun!
Grenade || Bruno Mars Should have known you was trouble from the first kiss // Had your eyes wide open // Why were they open?
Content Warning: The devil, grenades and bullets and such, death, technically
The emotion in this song is incredible.
Bad Liar || Imagine Dragons Did all my dreams never mean one thing? // Does happiness lie in a diamond ring?
Love Is Gone || SLANDER feat. Dylan Matthew I can’t breathe, I’m so weak, I know this isn’t easy // Don’t tell me that your love is gone
His artist name is SLANDER? Wow, that doesn’t match the song at all. It’s such a raw, emotional song, and the piano is gorgeous.
Death Bed (Coffee For Your Head) || Powfu feat. beabadoobee I don’t know why this has happened, but I probably deserve it // I tried to do my best, but you know that I’m not perfect
Content Warning: Death
It’s so saddddd
Someone You Loved || Lewis Capaldi Now the day bleeds // Into nightfall // And you’re not here // To get me through it all
Okay, I understand why this song is so popular. Lewis Capaldi has an incredible voice.
In Case You Don’t Live Forever || Ben Platt In case you don’t live forever, let me tell you now // I love you more than you’ll ever wrap your head around
SO CUTE EEP
Me and My Broken Heart || Rixton All I need is a little love in my life // All I need is a little love in the dark // A little but I’m hoping it might kick start // Me and my broken heart
This one’s kind of sadz. But I guess broken hearts are kind of sadz.
And thus concludes the updated version of the Me and Music Tag! Out of my almost 500 song playlist, I included 161 songs, so I guess that’s pretty good. If anyone wants to see the rest of my playlist, you can check it out here.
Also, wow, this post took me weeks to write. I enjoyed it, but hoowee, I’m glad I started so early!
Feel free to do this tag for yourself! I’d love to see some of y’all’s musical tastes!
🎵 Did you not just read the post?? Listen to one of those songs! 🎵
Well, look at that! I’ve been tagged for the Liebster award again! The last time I did this award was back in February 2021, so I’m excited to do it again! Neria over at Writing For Fun Forever was kind enough to tag me, and I can’t wait to answer her questions! So off we go!
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog ✔
2. Answer the 11 questions given to you ✔
3. Nominate 11 other bloggers ✔
4. Ask your nominees 11 questions ✔
1. If you had to move to one place on the Earth and stay there for the rest of your life, where would it be?
Either Michigan or England. I have several friends up in Michigan and I’ve always wanted to go up there, and England is just amazing. Although it does get pretty cold in both of those places. I would probably freeze to death.
2. What’s your favorite candle scent?
None of them. Scented candles are just. . . . nasty. And unhealthy.
3. What’s your favorite music genre? And, list your top 5 songs from that genre.
*sweats nervously* Heck if I know. I don’t know how to tell genres apart. I do enjoy Latin music, but I don’t listen to that much of it? I can tell you artists that I enjoy, but genres is where I have a problem 😅 I like hip-hop, but I don’t like to listen to too much of it at one time because of how heavy it is.
Ooh, actually, showtunes! Am I allowed to do that? 😂 And my five favorites would be. . . . Wait For It from Hamilton, You Will Be Found and To Break in a Glove from Dear Evan Hansen, She Used to Be Mine from Waitress, and Six from Six.
Aagh, that was way too hard to choose. Basically, every single song from those musicals that I mentioned plus others 😂
4. Would you rather have a small house with a lot of land, or a large house with a small amount of land?
Well, considering how I’ve lived in a small house with a lot of land for my entire life, that’s what I’d choose. You’re more isolated, you have room for critters, and barbecues are easier! Although having a small house with ten people is a little bit cramped, but we make it work.
5. If you had a mini fridge in your room, what would you stock it with?
Chocolate, lettuce, yogurt, strawberry applesauce, and ice cream and ice cream sandwiches. Just some of my favorite snacks 😊
6. In the future or present, what are 5 things you think are mandatory to have in your house?
A couch, a piano (obviously!), a bed, important appliances like a fridge and a toilet, and space to do your thing!
7. What event or which person has had the biggest impact on your life? Why? (No need to go into specifics if you don’t want to)
Ooh, good question! I’d say positive impact would be my decisions to join and leave the Young Writers’ Workshop. My writing journey improved greatly when I joined, but now I really miss it. Maybe I can rejoin soon.
Negative impact is probably. . . . not really one specific thing, but a bunch of little things over my childhood that made me insecure about my personality and my interests and my laugh etc. They’ve made me a little wary of people nowadays.
8. What do you like to do in order to pass time when you’re bored?
Unfortunately, the answer would be get on my phone and scroll through Pinterest. I have a little bit of a Pinterest addiction 😅 But it’s not all bad because I’m gathering inspiration for different projects, right??
9. Would you rather be a famous vlogger or blogger? Why?
Vlogger, and only because I’ve had dreams of being a YouTuber for a long time, since fifth grade or so. I don’t know if that’s the kind of career I’m going to go into one day, but it would be fun!
10. Just ’cause of something I’ve personally experienced…Would you rather be in -15ºF or 115ºF weather?
Depends on where I am. Am I inside a building with access to blankets or AC? If I’m just outside, I would prefer 115ºF because that’s the kind of weather we get down here in the south and I’m kind of used to it. I am very good at underdressing in the winter (I actually don’t even own a jacket 😅) and that’s because I’m usually inside snuggled in a blanket. I usually freeze during church.
So, um. . . . I may or may not be a little late for this tag. I was tagged a little while ago by Syberyah, but it wasn’t too long ago.
Better late than never, right?
The last time I did a tag was almost a year ago and, I dunno, I’ve kind of missed it. So, I’m excited to be doing a Disney tag! I love Disney movies and I’m looking forward to answering these questions!
So without further ado, the Disney Magic Tag!!
1. Link back to the blogger who tagged you. ✔
2. Tag 1-5 other bloggers. ✔
3. Answer the questions. ✔
4. Use a Disney-themed picture for your graphic (any will do). ✔
1. Which era of Disney is your favorite?
Hang on a sec because it’s been a hot second since I last researched the eras of Disney. Lemme Google it real quick.
. . . .
Oh gosh, this is hard. I love movies in all of the eras. I think it’s a tie between the Revival Era and the Post-Renaissance Era. The Revival Era because, I mean, c’mon, they’re great movies, and the Post-Renaissance Era because there are a lot of really good, underrated movies in that category. But really, I don’t have a favorite because they’re all fantastic.
2. Which Disney movie is your favorite?
I-I just got out of my mouth that I don’t have a favorite because they’re all fantastic. What part of “I don’t have a favorite, they’re all fantastic” do you not understand???
I think humor-wise, either The Emperor’s New Groove or Hercules is my favorite. Although WOW is Hercules inaccurate. One of these days I’m going to make a blog post or a video or something of me watching Hercules and just ranting over all the mistakes.
Actually wait, am I allowed to count Hamilton? Because, I mean, it’s on Disney+. . . .
Update: Guys, I just watched Encanto and I think I’m in love.
3. Which Disney character is your favorite?
These are getting so painfully specific. It’s impossible to choose a favorite. I see myself in SOOO many characters, there’s no way to pick just one.
(Although, if we’re counting Hamilton, Jefferson. Jefferson all the way.)
‘Nother Update: Either Camilo or Luisa from Encanto. I could see myself being friends with them.
4. Which Disney song is your favorite?
5. What was the first Disney movie you ever watched?
I think it was Hercules. In the nursery. At church. I was, like, two. I have no recollection of this.
6. What Disney movie have you seen the most times?
Oh, easy. Robin Hood. I was OBSESSED with this movie when I was little, until they took it off of Netflix. I mourned. Like, legitimately mourned. And then, we got Disney+, and I think that was the first thing we watched, for old times’ sakes.
7. What kind of story do you want Disney to make a movie out of next?
Heck if I know. They’ve made so many different types of movies. Although I would love a Disney princess that raps instead of sings. That would be epic.
8. Which Disney show is your favorite?
Bluey. Several of my friends are in agreement with me that Bluey is the best show in Disney+. If we’re only doing Disney Channel shows, I guess I would have to say Jessie, because that’s the only one I’ve really seen anything of? And I’ve only seen, like, four episodes.
9. Which Disney movie is your least favorite?
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Cinderella are kind of boring. Also Bambi. I feel like that one doesn’t have that much of a plot. Oh, and Lilo and Stitch. Like, it’s cute, but I’m not that big of a fan of aliens.
1. Better Nate Than Ever: This one looks fun. Plus, Nate’s Broadway-driven. I can relate. 🙃
2. Turning Red: The trailers are so entertaining XD
3. The Little Mermaid: Guys, they’re making a live-action version of The Little Mermaid???? Eep!
4. Once on This Island: I’m 98% sure this is a Broadway musical. Which means, we get another musical turned movie! I hope it turns out good.
5. Hercules: *squeals* GUUYYYYSSSS THEY’RE MAKING A LIVE-ACTION HERCULESSSSS!!!!!
6. Magic Kingdom: This looks so cool. I wonder if they’re going to make it like the Kingdom Keepers book series? That would be fun.
7. Marley: Bro, I am all for these stories told from another POV, and A Christmas Carol told by Jacob Marley? Yes pleaseeee!!
8. NATIONAL TREASURE 3: HELP I’M SCREAMINGGGG I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONGGGGGG!!!!! THEY BETTER NOT SCREW IT UPPP!!!!!!!!!!!
9. Bob: The Musical: This title. . . . y’all, I’m dead. But the story seems cool. The summary kind of makes me think of Soul.
10. Aladdin 2: Excuse me, did you say Aladdin 2? Does this mean we get more songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul? Please, please, please!! I love their music!
11. Robin Hood: A “live-action” Robin Hood? Now this will be interesting.
12. Rapunzel: So long as they don’t cut our beautiful Flynn Rider out of the story completely, I think this movie will be really cool! Plus, after performing in Into the Woods, Jr., I have a special love for the OG fairytales.
13. The Sword In the Stone: AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE TELL ME THEY’RE GOING TO LEAVE MERLIN AND ARCHIMEDES BECAUSE IF THEY DON’T–
14. The Paper Magician: This has potential to be amazing. Although, I’ve never read the book series. *adds to TBR*
15. The Grimm Legacy: Also haven’t read this series, but the premise sounds epic.
16. Prince Charming: They actually used the word “satirical” to describe this. I’m literally so excited. Ooh, what if it ends up with a similar feel to The Princess Bride? Or Monty Python?? Can we have that please????
17. Genie: NO. I CAN’T. I MAY JUST HYPERVENTILATE.
18. In the Land of Imagined Things: Literally, the only information we have is the title, but that’s pretty good information, if you ask me. Like, that is one heckuva phrase right there.
19. Peter and the Starcatchers: Ok, I’m going to be completely honest here. I am a sucker for anything with powers. Which means that I’m probably going to like this movie no matter what.
20. The Museum of the Weird: This sounds freaking epic. And they said it was influenced by Night at the Museum, which is such a fantastic movie.
21. Imagining Nathan: This could be a really good movie about anxiety or PTSD, and I hope they do a good job with it, because those things are hard to portray sometimes.
22. Matched: This sounds SO much like the matchmaking system in Keeper of the Lost Cities. I’m here for it.
23. Something Wicked This Way Comes: That TITLE!!
24. Nottingham and Hood: Sounds cool. I love Robin Hood.
25. Happily Ever After: See, these sequels to “happily ever after” are always so cool. I’m excited for this one.
26. Opposite Day: Anything “opposite day” has great potential for humor. Like, seriously.
27. Time Zones: Eep!
28. Floors: Double eep!
29. Happy Birthday: I’m a sucker for flashbacks, and if this whole movie is going to be one flashback after another, I absolutely cannot wait.
30. Something Cliqued: Now this sounds like an epic adventure. It reminds me of those TikTok POVs where the person’s consciousness is placed in someone else’s body as part of a coming-of-age thing.
11. Which Disney movie has the best message?
Not sure. I don’t always agree with Disney messages. I did like the themes in Encanto, even if they were a little cliche.
12. Which Disney princess is the best?
I relate to Anna a lot, but I love Ariel and Belle. They all have a piece of me.
13. Which Disney prince is the best?
I mean, Kristoff obviously, but does he count? He’s not technically a prince. No, no, Eugene. Also not a full-blooded prince, but I love him to pieces.
14. Which Disney character do you most want to be like?
Heck, all of them? They all lead way more exciting lives than I do. I love Camilo. I could see myself being a female version of Camilo. Already got the sarcasm mostly down.
“IsAbElLa, YoUr BoYfRiEnD’s HeRe!!”
15. What Disney costume would you wear?
Belle’s dresses are soooo pretty. I’d love to play Belle in a theatre performance just for the costumes XD I also like Julieta’s dress, from Encanto.
16. Which Disney character do you most relate to?
Oh gosh. Well, Anna could be my twin sister. I struggle with feeling friendless a lot, and her goofy nature is literally me XD I also relate to Luisa, because, I too am the older sibling, and Surface Pressure is a bop. When I was younger, I totally got where Ariel was coming from, because I wanted to be a mermaid, a dog, a fairy, etc.
2020 was a rough year for everyone. It had its fair share of ups and downs (and lefts and rights, too). However, we are not focusing on the lefts and rights today. This tag is all about the good things about 2020.
So, let’s be optimistic!!
1. Thank the person who tagged you (Thanks Essie!)
2. Share 8 of the things God blessed you with or taught you in 2020
3. Tag 5+ bloggers
Can I call this “Questions”, even if there are no questions? Yes, yes I can.
1. I Joined the Young Writers’ Workshop (aka YDubs)
It was 9:30 on a Thursday night. I was in my room doing who-knows-what (probably reading), when I heard Mom call my name. To be honest, I thought I was in trouble, but I wasn’t sure why. However, I was not in trouble! Mom handed me her phone, which was on a page called “The Young Writers’ Workshop“. Curious, I scrolled through the page, taking in all the information. The lessons looked exciting, the instructors seemed pretty cool, and the unity and community that the website offered was very appealing. After scrolling through twice, I said, “This looks awesome!”
And so began my time on YDubs! I have learned so much about how to improve my writing. After all, if it wasn’t for YDubs, this blog probably wouldn’t exist! I am now plotting a novel (something I wouldn’t have ever thought to do before YDubs), blogging consistently (which is also because of y’all!), and I’m in a better place spiritually and emotionally!
(If anyone is interested in joining YDubs, registration is open!)
2. My Friend Group Grew
This is technically an extension of the first one, but I made so many wonderful friends in just a couple of months after I joined YDubs! And they were all like me!! Crazy, weird, and sarcastic writers who were chock-full of ideas!
Of course, I’ve also made great friends from blogging, which has been awesome too!
3. I Met My Best Friend
And this one is an extension of the first two XD
I remember the first time I started chatting withLiesl. We were a little bit stiff at first, because, after all, we didn’t know each other very well. We talked about the stuff writers talk about, and told about our siblings and their crazy antics.
And suddenly, it happened. We just…..became best friends! I seriously don’t remember when or how it happened. We just went from stiff and slightly formal to literally SCREAMING at each other about various things.
And that’s the best kind of friendship there is.
4. Construction Finished on Our House
Back in 2019 (that ancient year of bliss and happiness 😅), we hired someone to add two bedrooms and a bathroom on to our house. They started in October, and finally finished in January, just a couple of months before the craziness happened.
Let me tell you, it was so much fun to watch the construction process. From the bare bones, to the unpainted walls, to the wooden floors and the finished product, we had such a good time looking around the rooms each evening after they finished for the day. (Our favorite thing to do was hide in the closets and go to Narnia.)
And we didn’t run into any problems, like they always do on HGTV!
Until after they were all finished and the floor started leaking. They came back and fixed it though, so it wasn’t that big of a deal.
5. I Got to See My Cousin More Than Once
Under normal circumstances, I usually just see my cousin, Lizi, once or twice a year. But, in 2020, I saw her four times!! And she got to sleep over at our house, which never happens! It was the best!
6. I Had the Best Birthday I’ve Ever Had
It didn’t matter that my Dad tested positive for COVID on my birthday, it was still the very best!
I got to have donuts, croissants, and pigs-in-a-blanket for breakfast, which are usually things that we only have on Christmas Day. The decorations were absolutely beautiful (which makes sense, because my mother and my sister went all-out for me), and the presents were all things that had been on my list!
After lunch, I went to town with my mom so I could get my learner’s license. I was absolutely terrified that I was going to fail the test, but I actually only missed one question! I wasn’t quite ready to drive yet, so I let Mom do all that fun stuff XD
We visited my Dad at his office and then got ice cream from the best (well, second best. Brewster’s is the best) ice cream shop in the world: Dairy Queen!
After we ate our ice cream, Mom let me go on a controlled shopping spree in Wal-Mart, which was fun! I love shopping in Wal-Mart! Because I’m basic.
And literally, when we got to our car after shopping, Mom got a text from Dad saying that his COVID test had come back positive, and we had to quarantine. So, we picked up some pizza for supper and went home, where I sorted through all my birthday wishes on YDubs, had a Zoom call with some friends, and played MarioKart with my siblings, and dominated as always. 😇
I haven’t had as wonderful of a birthday since.
I also haven’t had a birthday since, but that doesn’t matter.
7. I Started Driving
I didn’t actually start driving until a whole month after I’d gotten my permit, but I still started driving! And let me tell you, learning to drive a 12-passenger van is no easy task. I wasn’t brave enough to go any faster than 45 MPH (60 KPH, yes, Canadians, you are welcome), but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Driving is fun! Now, I’m literally driving everywhere. My mom isn’t allowed to drive unless she’s going somewhere without me XD
8. I Joined a Band Class
Okay, technically this didn’t officially happen until 2021, but I visited the class in October, so I’ll count it. The class was meeting on Zoom, so, even though they was based in Michigan, I was still able to join! And, the teacher allowed me to write a song for the class to play, which was pretty awesome. I cried. A lot.
9. We Got a Puppy!
Some of you might remember my post where I introduced our puppy, Cookie. He was such a sweet and cuddly ball of fur and love, and he was absolutely precious!! Now, he is ten times the size he was when we first got him, and bites everything XD He’s still so sweet though!
Okay, yeah, I went one over, but so many wonderful things happened, it was impossible to choose just eight!!
If I had an official songwriting station, it would look like that. Or messier. Probably twice as messy.
Anyways, what’s up folks? As promised in my last post, here I am with a music post! I found this tag on Maya’s blog and then Liesl did it a couple of weeks ago and reminded me how badly I wanted to do it! I’ve been wanting to do it since the end of March, but, you know, awards come first.
I have a three-page-long list of some of my favorite songs (it’s impossible to have all of them. Like holiday songs. I don’t have any of those) that I have been stockpiling for a long time and I am going to attempt to cram them all into this one post.
Something tells me that putting 137 songs in one measly post is going to be a challenge. (And yes, I did just count all of them to get that figure) But, I am going to try my best!
Also, I put the graphics in rainbow order because I am set in the Moriah Elizabeth way of thinking, and plus, who doesn’t love rainbows?
So, let’s get started!!
WARNING: MUCH FANGIRLING AHEAD
Link back to the original post so Sophie can see your answers and listen to the tunes. ✔
For every prompt you choose to do, name 1-5 songs. (Sorry, but I love way too many songs to be able to stick to this XD)
Have fun and play your music LOUD! ✔
Aladdin 2019|| Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Alan Menken
Speechless sold me on this one. But also, Will Smith’s versions of the songs are just spot-on! And yes, I am not ashamed to say that I have almost the entire soundtrack memorized.
Frozen II|| Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez
How could you not love this one? Into the Unknown and Show Yourself topped Let It Go, which many of us (yes, me included) did not think was possible XD And honestly, Kristoff’s song Lost in the Woods was just…..a jam XD I love everything about this soundtrack and each and every song is on my piano music wishlist.
Hamilton|| Lin-Manuel Miranda
Honestly, I just….if you know, you know.
Dear Evan Hansen|| Benj Pasek and Justin Paul
Same reasons as Hamilton XD
Annie|| Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin
When I first listened to the Annie soundtrack, I didn’t think I was going to like it very much. But, it definitely exceeded my expectations, and yes, it’s the hard-knock life for me too, my peeps.
The Greatest Showman|| Benj Pasek and Justin Paul
ASKEKKLAKEWLSZI YES JUST YES
Send Me || Lecrae America ain’t Christian, they just practicin’ the ritual
The first time I ever heard this song, my dad was driving in our neighborhood towards our house. Nothing in the lyrics remind me of home, I’m just reminded of where we were when I heard this song. *shrugs* Brains are weird.
Shine || Newsboys Shine. // Make ’em wonder whatcha got. // Make ’em wish that they were not // On the outside looking bored
Before I knew this was a Newsboys song, my dad would play it on the piano. I can remember him playing it before we moved to the house we’re at now, and I would jam out to it.
Truth Be Told || Matthew West But didn’t you say the church should look more like a hospital // A safe place for the sick, the sinner and the scarred and the prodigals
Truth is being told in this song, and I absolutely love it. Matthew West is a talented songwriter, and I should listen to his music more often.
Start Right Here || Casting Crowns What if the church on Sunday // Was still the church on Monday too?
Another song that tells the truth in a hard but true way. This is one of my favorite Casting Crowns songs, just because it starts with a powerful punch to the Christian conscience.
Church Clap (feat. Trip Lee) || KB Preach the gospel, and stand back // Look for changed lives not for hand claps
When I went to camp a couple of years ago, there were Church Clap flash mobs everywhere you turned XD I love this song, and honestly, it’s impossible to not dance when it comes on.
Move || MercyMe I just might bend but I won’t break // As long as I can see Your face
Every time this song comes on, I cannot stop bopping my head up and down! When I’m in a decent place (aka not at my desk XD) I just have to bust a move or two or twelve.
More Doors For Me || elybeatmaker and Grian A door // For me // Another door for me
Resource Gathering || elybeatmaker and Etho Listen to my jabbering // About the resource gathering // My never-ending stammering // As I’m resource gathering
Yes, I listen to Hermitcraft remixes and I am not sorry at all XD If you don’t watch the Hermitcraft Minecraft videos you should, because they’re amazing and pretty funny!
More Doors For Me and Resource Gathering are my favorite Hermitcraft remixes and they’re such jams! I can’t help but tap my feet along to the beat!
Horizon || TobyMac There’s coming a day, coming a day we gonna rise up // We won’t give up the fight
I have actually jumped up and danced along to this song before. In my bedroom where no one could see, but still XD This is my favorite song from TobyMac’s The Elements album, and…..I just love it so much.
Live Out Loud || Group 1 Crew Give an autograph not because I’m a star // But ’cause a lil’ bit of nice goes far
The beat is just…..something on this song, and I love all the background stuff Manny added towards the end XD Sometimes, Group 1 Crew songs make me laugh, sometimes they make me jam, and sometimes they do both!
Start Somewhere || TobyMac I said some things that I regret // And if I could, I’d take ’em back // If I could turn my words around // You wouldn’t hear a sound
What genre of music is this song? Whatever it is, I love it XD Toby’s always been good about having a diversity of genres for his albums. And the gunshot at the endddd XD
Brave || Moriah Peters I know, I know I’m no superwoman // But impossible is possible with You
Moriah Peters’ voice is super strong in this song, and it just makes me want to rock out! Admittedly, this is the only Moriah Peters song I’ve heard so her voice might be strong in other songs, but I digress.
Ill-M-I || TobyMac Ill-M-I, Ill-M-I, Ill-M-I, Ill-M-I and you // Illuminati comin’ thru
This is….definitely one of the stranger ones of TobyMac’s songs, but I can’t help but tap my toes along to the beat!
Stand By You || Rachel Platten Oh, tears make kaleidoscopes in your eyes // And hurt, I know you’re hurting but so am I
Yes, I put this on my list instead of Fight Song, and no, you will not see Fight Song anywhere on this list XD I love Fight Song, but Stand By You is my favorite of the two. (Whoa, rhymes)
Concrete || Britt Nicole ‘Cause we found each other // We won’t buckle under // We’ll break the edge of the knife
WARNING: MORE HEAD BOPPING AHEAD (get it? 😂)
I just heard this one for the first time the other day, but it’s going on the list of favorites because I LIKE IT.
Well, that was long. Next category!
Yeah, I technically already did this one when I did the first category XD Here are some of my favorites:
Disappear || Dear Evan Hansen No one should flicker out or have any doubt // That it matters that they are here
Requiem || Dear Evan Hansen I gave you the world, you threw it away // Leaving these broken pieces behind you
Satisfied || Hamilton I know my sister like I know my own mind // You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind
Burn || Hamilton Your sentences border on senseless // And you are paranoid in every paragraph
Aaron Burr, Sir || Hamilton If you stand for nothing, Burr, what’ll you fall for?
You Will Be Found || Dear Evan Hansen So let the sun come streaming in // ‘Cause you’ll reach up and you’ll rise again
The Hard-Knock Life || Annie ‘Steada treated // We get tricked // ‘Steada kisses // We get kicked
Speechless || Aladdin 2019 I will take these broken wings // And watch me burn across the sky
Friend Like Me || Aladdin 2019 I got a powerful urge to help you out // So whatcha wish? // I really want to know
Rewrite the Stars || The Greatest Showman All I want is to fly with you // All I want is to fall with you
Never Enough || The Greatest Showman Towers of gold are still too little // These hands could hold the world but it’ll // Never be enough
The Other Side || The Greatest Showman If I were mixed up with you, I’d be the talk of the town // Disgraced and disowned, another one of the clowns
From Now On || The Greatest Showman Let this promise in me start // Like an anthem in my heart
Show Yourself || Frozen II Something is familiar // Like a dream, I can reach but not quite hold
When I am Older || Frozen II ‘Cause when you’re older // Absolutely everything makes sense
All is Found || Frozen II Yes, she will sing to those who’ll hear // And in her song, all magic flows
Made For Me || TobyMac Well I got white skin and she got brown skin // But milk and coffee’s always been a beautiful blend
This is such a sweet song that Toby wrote for his wife, and I used to listen to it all the time when I was little. It’s still one of my favorites to this day.
Get Back Up || TobyMac And there’s always scars // When you fall that far
I heard this one before I knew TobyMac’s name. The radio is a magical place when you’re nine-years-old (or younger), and my jaw never fails to drop when I hear a song from the ancient days of my childhood XD
Hall of Fame || The Script Do it for your people, do it for your pride // How you ever gonna know if you never even try?
I heard a clip of this song in a Disney Jr. commercial (I have younger siblings, okay?), and I had no idea what it was called, and then, to my surprise, it was in a baseball commercial which actually cited the name of the song and the songwriters, so I looked it up and listened to it and promptly fell in love with it! (Plus, it’s so much fun to play on the piano)
Blessings || Laura Story What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?
I first remember hearing this at my grandmother’s funeral. I was six or seven at the time, and my little mind thought that it was such a beautiful song.
My fifteen year old mind thinks the same thing 😅
Does this mean I haven’t matured much?
Creeper Rap || Dan Bull Darling, oh, what you crying for? // Did somebody break your diamond sword?
Yes, I’m sorry, another Minecraft song. I love almost all of Dan Bull’s Minecraft raps, but this one was the first I heard.
Sometimes having Minecraft-obsessed friends is a good thing.
Now that I’ve listened all of the raps, Creeper Rap is probably my least favorite, but still. Memories.
Thrive || Casting Crowns Joy unspeakable, faith unsinkable // Love unstoppable, anything is possible
We sang this at the end of a homeschool group end-of-the-year program, and I totally forgot about that until my brother reminded me a few weeks ago. I didn’t know this song at all, but I think I managed to do a pretty good job learning as we went XD
Eye of the Storm || Ryan Stevenson And when the tears of pain and heartache are pouring down my face // I find my peace in Jesus’ Name
Back during Tropical Storm Irma and Hurricane Michael, we had to go hide in the hallway. Whenever that happens, this song is always playing in the back of my mind and helps me be strong for my younger siblings.
In the Light || DC Talk This only serves to confirm my suspicions // I’m still a man in need of a Savior
Yeah, this song is kind of maybe possibly dated just a little, but, I mean….DC Talk!
DC Talk was definitely before my time and I don’t usually listen to music that old, but there are some songs that I really like for whatever reason. This was the first song that I ever heard by them (Jesus Freak followed soon after), and…..um….I’ve kind of forgotten how to sing anything besides the harmony part XD
Priceless || for KING & COUNTRY Sisters, we can start again // Give honor to the end, love // We can start again
FOR KING & COUNTRY
City on Our Knees || TobyMac Tonight’s the night // For the sinners and the saints // Two worlds collide in a beautiful display
Another TobyMac song that I heard on the radio when I was little. There are quite a few of these. Don’t worry, I won’t list all of them XD
But….isn’t this all these songs? I….I don’t understand this one…XD
Yeah, I sing or hum along to every song I know. And I don’t sing terribly, thank you very much XD (I have actually found it very different to sing badly, whether accidentally or on purpose 😅 Is that a good thing?)
Here are some of the ones I love to sing along to:
Undeniable || TobyMac Your work doesn’t stop with me // Your signature’s on everything we see // From the hills of Negril, Jamaica // To the kid that the doctor said would never make it
This song is just so beautiful. It’s a reminder that God is in control of everything, and it’s impossible to deny that He exists. I love singing it so much!
iContact || Group 1 Crew I can’t explain it, the lovely things that You do // Whatever it takes, gotta make eye contact with You
I don’t know too many of the lyrics to this song, but what I do know, I sing along to because of the clever wordplay in places XD I love Group 1 Crew, if you couldn’t tell.
Favorite Song || TobyMac I’ma leave my selfish melodies // Wanna be in Your beautiful symphony
When I first heard this song, it was stuck in my head for THREE STRAIGHT DAYS. It’s very catchy, and fun to sing!
With You || Jamie Grace See I misplaced my master plan // Courtesy of my attention span
This song is just a sweet reminder of what’s it’s like to spend some time with God, and it’s catchy, like most of Jamie’s songs.
Alligator Sky (No Rap Version) || Owl City Remember to live, because you’re gonna be thrilled to death
I loooooove the melody on this one!! Owl City’s songs are always so beautifully written!
Believer || Imagine Dragons I was chokin’ in the crowd // Building my rain up in the cloud // Falling like ashes to the ground // Hoping my feelings, they would drown
I don’t like the lyrics on this one as much as the rest of the song. (Maybe it’s the songwriter in me, but I rarely pay attention to the lyrics of a song when I first hear it) I do love the chord progression, and this song gets stuck in my head every time I hear it 😅
Demons || Imagine Dragons Don’t get too close, it’s dark inside // It’s where my demons hide, it’s where my demons hide
Content Warning: Mentions of demons, as obviously proved from the title of the song
I love how this song starts with piano and then switches to the dynamic that all of Imagine Dragons’ songs have. And the melody!! Ahh, so pretty!!
Enemy || Newsboys Who was I to sit and judge? // Always pointing my crooked finger
The melody of the chorus makes this song my absolute favorite Newsboys song! *turns on song and hums along*
He Knows My Name || Francesca Battistelli I’m not living for applause // I’m already so adored
This is one of the few songs that I paid attention to the lyrics when I first heard it. I think it’s a good reminder that we don’t need to be loved by everyone, because God already loves us.
He Said || Group 1 Crew Who you are ain’t what your going through // So don’t let it get the best of you
When I first heard this song, I didn’t know who Group 1 Crew was, then I found out and fell in love with their music, and it made me happy to discover that this song was theirs. I love Group 1 Crew so much!!
If We’re Honest || Francesca Battistelli There is freedom found when we lay our secrets down at the cross
I heard clips of this song in various places until I listened to the whole thing. This is one of my favorite Francesca Battistelli songs.
One Song at a Time || Jamie Grace We be passin’ out love like the offering’ plates // And we be spreadin’ this joy like it’s jelly or jam
This is one of Jamie Grace’s debut songs and it’s really pretty. I think it also reflects every musician: If you hand them their instrument, they’ll play a tune and sing and dance the whole night through.
Warriors || Imagine Dragons Here we are, don’t turn away now // We are the warriors that built this town // From dust.
Honestly…..the amount of shouting in this song is ridiculous. I feel like you could kill your voice singing like that.
I still like it though XD
We Live || Superchic(k) Waking up to another dark morning // People are mourning // The weather in life outside is storming
Content Warning: Death, cancer, general sad things
I think this genre is called Urban Pop? Maybe? Whatever it is, it’s one of my favorites.
Made to Love || TobyMac I feel a breeze cover me called Jehovah // And Daddy, I’m on my way
This has always been my favorite TobyMac song, and it always will be. Probably. He’s not retired yet XD
It’s a great reminder that we’re here to love and show God’s light.
Hermitgang || Rendog, MajesticTaco, Xisumavoid, Welsknight, ImpulseSV, Docm77, Skellythekid and MumboJumbo You’re guilty of getting murdered with words // Y’all are out-gunned, go home nerds
Content Warning: This is a diss track, so lots of roasts, mentions of death, and gruesome Minecraft references (that aren’t technically gruesome in the game)
Yes, another Hermitcraft song. This one is not a remix, actually. It’s a song that several of the YouTubers put together themselves, and it’s very well-done. I love rapping along XD
Mumbo AFK || elybeatmaker and Grian Mumbo Jumbo you are AFK // I’m gonna take that mustache away!
This one is a Hermitcraft remix. Technically, it was just a little ditty that was sung by Grian, a YouTuber, and his fanbase went nuts with it!
It’s a total jam!
Arch-Illager Rap || Dan Bull You can try assembling a rebellion of adventurers // It’s never gonna bother me, my friend, so don’t pretend it does
Content Warning: This is technically a Minecraft song so there’s a little bit of Minecraft lingo, hypnosis, shunning, burning, and mentions of liquor (but they’re referring to potions. Rhymes are a thing). I promise it’s not as bad as it sounds.
Minecraft Dungeons is such an awesome game, and Dan Bull made sure to make a rap for the boss, the Arch-Illager. This is my favorite out of all his raps, and singing and rapping along is so much fun!
Greater || MercyMe Bring your doubts // And bring your fears // Bring your hurt // And bring your tears
I don’t remember where I heard this song for the first time, how old I was or anything, but it still sends me on such a nostalgia trip when I hear it!
Go || Hollyn You must have some magnet in your soul // Pullin’ me away from what I know
Content Warning: This song implies a very unhealthy relationship so interpret that as you will.
It’s the prechorus that sold me on this one. MINOR CHORDS
Work of Art || Britt Nicole Comparing is poison // That’s killing you and me // The lies of perfection // We ain’t gonna believe
I love Britt Nicole’s voice so much, and she doesn’t disappoint on this song. The melody is absolutely beautiful!!
Normal || Jamie Grace And I know it’s a little bit 1991 pop song, to say, “Just be yourself” // So call me a 1991 pop song, don’t wanna be nobody else
This is one of Jamie’s more recent songs and OH MY GOODNESS I JUST LOVE IT SO MUCH
If you listen, you’ll understand.
True Colors (Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake version) || Tom Kelly, Billy Steinberg, Justin Timberlake, and Anna Kendrick Show me a smile then // Don’t be unhappy // Can’t remember when // I last saw you laughing
When we first watched Trolls, we were obsessed with the soundtrack and listened to it all the time! My dad and I used to duet on this song, and it’s so beautiful!
Um….I don’t really listen to old music all that often. I prefer songs with a more modern feel to them. I think the oldest songs I’ve listened to are Disney songs 😅
Irene || TobyMac (2001) You got to reach up to touch rock bottom // The powers that be keep you downtrodden
Content Warning: Implications of a woman pregnant outside of wedlock
This song is from Toby’s first solo album, and it’s my favorite on the album. The Hebrew feel to the chorus is so perfect and I love it so much!
My Friend || DC Talk (1998) And I remember when you used to say // “Jesus is the way” // I never thought I’d see your light begin to fade
I love the melody of the verses! Up and down and back again, and the guitar adds a lot to it.
River Flows in You (Piano Version) || Yiruma (2001)
I honestly didn’t know this song was this old, because I’ve only been aware of its existence for a couple of years. It’s so pretty and it makes a perfect lullaby!
Yeah, these are the oldest songs on my list 😅 They’re before my time, so I count them as old XD
God Girl || Jamie Grace I’m a God girl that’s who I’ll be // From the top of my head to the soles of my feet
I have known this song for quite some time, and I love the message of it. When my sister heard it for the first time, I sang along and she gave me weird looks.
Although, she does that often.
Pigstep || Lena Raine
Yes, this is a real song and don’t you dare try to convince me otherwise.
I’ve been playing Minecraft for almost seven years, and the music never really suited my tastes. I mean, sure, it was nice, and it fit the atmosphere, but it wasn’t the kind of music that I like to listen to. And then, last summer, Mojang added the Pigstep music disc and my world exploded. I love it so much.
Keys to the Kingdom || Group 1 Crew So many promises You gave // And we just turned and walked away // But now I see the price You paid // Was enough for us to live victorious
I was riding home with my dad after Wednesday night church and we were listening to the TobyMac radio on Pandora. This song came on, and my dad went, “I like me some Group 1 Crew.” I was surprised because I’d never heard any of their songs and yet my dad seemed to know who they were. Curious, I listened to the song and promptly fell in love. I love Group 1 Crew so much.
Beloved || Jordan Feliz Sometimes a heart can feel like a heavy weight // It pulls you under and you just fall away
I loved this song because of the beat and it was one of my favorites. I listened to it all the time. Then, we left our homeschool group, which was where some of my best friends were, and suddenly, I found myself pretty friendless. My sister was being invited to sleepovers and playdates all the time but my friends never invited me over. I was really disappointed, and I was starting to slip into depression a little bit.
And then, this song came on and took a whole new meaning for me.
Whenever I feel bad, I listen to this song. It doesn’t always cheer me up 100% of the time, but it does chase away some of the storm clouds of life.
Love Feels Like || TobyMac But in the depths of the trenches // Is the richest of riches // Love is calling us to more
In the aforementioned homeschool group, every week one of the families would do a “family presentation” where they told a little bit about themselves so everyone could get to know them better. Well, one of the families consisted of some massive TobyMac fans, and, for their family presentation, they did a lip sync of this song! It was honestly very well done, and ridiculously funny XD
While You Were Sleeping (Original Christmas Version) || Casting Crowns United States of America // Looks like another silent night // As we’re sung to sleep by philosophies // That save the trees and kill the children
That line hits hard, doesn’t it? I remember when our church choir performed this song in the Christmas program. I cried.
Thunder || Imagine Dragons
Me and my sisters were playing on our trampoline once, and I was playing a very dramatic character who liked to call lightning from the sky at random times and shout, “LIGHTNING CRACKABOOM THUNDER FIRE DEATH CRACKABOOM” and my sister sang this song whenever I did that XD
Sixteen || Jamie Grace Bear with me // I’m only sixteen
I’m fifteen but I know what it feels like to have so much pressure on your shoulders as you grow. This song reminds me that I’m only a teenager and I’m blessed to have a family that will take care of me as I learn what it means to live in the real world.
Still That Girl || Britt Nicole Sometimes life don’t go the way you planned // And we all have days when we just don’t understand
Every time this song comes on, I imagine a “music video” in my head for it. (That’s one of my favorite things to do. You should try it! Imagine characters doing whatever the song says.) I don’t know why, but my “music video” just kind of calms me down.
*shrugs* I’m a strange child.
Better || Britt Nicole Paper planes in the sky crashing one at a time // Praying that they don’t land where you hide
This song doesn’t have Britt’s usual feel. The accompaniment only has a couple of instruments and it’s really simple, which I love.
Only Jesus || Casting Crowns But all an empty world can sell is empty dreams
I heard this song in a few TikToks (no, I’m not on TikTok, I watch YouTubers react to TikToks. I will probably never join TikTok *shivers*). I could only hear bits and pieces in the TikToks, and I was kind of curious as to what song it was. And then, this song came on my Pandora radio and I almost fell out of my chair XD
Not the End of Me || Group 1 Crew Now I’m sitting here feeling so defeated // It’s like you punched my heart, call that a heart beating.
This song is technically about breaking up with a boyfriend/girlfriend, but it also can apply to losing someone you love, whether by argument, car crash, or something else. The chorus is very calming.
Heaven (Fix Things) || Jamie Grace And I believe, everything that is broken is in Your hands // And You hold the power to turn mountains into sand and You can make a river out of dry land
God won’t always fix things here on earth, but when we get to Heaven, all the pain and hurting will disappear. It’s a good reminder in every scenario.
Live About It (lo-fi) || Jamie Grace You could call it opposites attract // For a king to live among the pack // Or just call it like it is // The way we need to live
This song squeezed a tear or two out when I first heard it. It’s so pretty and Jamie Grace’s vocals really bring it to life.
You’ll Never Be Alone || Capital Kings Last week you were sayin’ that somethin’ just ain’t right // Layin’ in your bed stayin’ up all night
This is another song that I’ve come up with a “music video” for. Not going into details, but my “music video” makes me cry sometimes.
I’m Sorry || TobyMac We overlook the broken // The homeless // And discard the poor // While we celebrate the rich and beautiful // With a wide-open door
Content Warning: This song is about current events soooo…..
If you know, you know.
Remember Me (Lullaby Version) || Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez Know that I’m with you the only way that I can be // Until you’re in my arms again // Remember me
This song is so beautiful, and the context makes it 1000x better.
Giants Fall || Francesca Battistelli The stones inside your hand might be small // But watch the giants fall
He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Dream Big || Jamie Grace Just give me a shot, just put me on your stage // I’ll sing, then clean up, and put the chairs away
This song is a reminder to trust the Lord and work hard to make your dreams come true.
Stronger || Mandisa Hold on and let Him hold your hand // Go on and fall into the arms of Jesus
I don’t listen to Mandisa all that often, but I do like this song. The pain isn’t going to last forever and God is holding you in the palm of His hand. It’s motivation to stay strong and push through the pain and know that God is caring for you every step of the way.
Hero (Red Pill Remix) || Superchic(k) If we make a choice and be the voice for those who won’t speak up for themselves // How many lives would be saved, changed, and rearranged?
Content Warning: Mentions of suicide, guns, pills, self-harm, and bullying.
The content warnings might turn people off, but this is a great song about standing up for the people who are harming and killing themselves because of the way they’re treated. I prefer the remixed version than the original solely because of the beat.
Believer || Capital Kings I’m never hidin’ this light away // I am more than a dreamer // I’m a believer
The beat is great on this song, and the lyrics are too. It reminds me to shine for God and bring His light into other people’s lives.
Welcome to the category where Mia dumped everything that didn’t fit in other categories! Enjoy!!
Safe || Britt Nicole You keep trying to get inside my head // While I keep trying to lose the words you said
Honestly, my favorite part of this song is when the strings slide into the chorus at the end. Chills, every time!!
I am Second || Newsboys I’m second to One // Redeemer, The Way, The Light
This song is a good reminder that human beings aren’t the ones in charge, and that God is Lord over our lives. Plus, it just sounds so good.
Write Your Story || Francesca Battistelli I’m an empty page // I’m an open book // Write Your story on my heart
As a writer, these lyrics appeal to me so much XD
Burn for You || TobyMac I’d rather burn for You than fade away // I’d rather burn for You than go my way!
We should all prefer burning for our Lord and Savior, than going our own way. Light that FIRE in our hearts, Lord!!
Forsaken || Group 1 Crew But here I stand unbroken // Here with an open heart // And in Your hands I give You all of me // Forgiven with a brand new start
I love the entire chorus on this song, but it’s a little too long to fit 😅 The lyrics are fantastic and the melody is even better!
Goin Down || Group 1 Crew The night’s young, you can call it underage.
Maybe it’s just me, but this line is so clever XD Young, underage….metaphors, am I right?
Superheroes || The Script When you’ve been fighting for it all your life // You’ve been struggling to make things right // That’s how a superhero learns to fly
Not all superheroes get their powers from a nuclear blast. Some get their powers by pushing through the pain and hard times.
Dangerous || Group 1 Crew I want to live dangerous // Risk it all for You, Lord // I need You to wake me up from // The life I’ve known before
We should all be willing to risk everything for the Lord.
Catchafire (White Rabbit Remix) || TobyMac Catch a fire let it burn within // Catch a fire let it burn for Him
BURN FOR GOD!! 🔥
Higher || Unspoken Leave me in rags and ruins and I’ll praise You through it // Clothe me in glory and riches, I’ll praise You just the same
Whether God blesses us with more than we could have ever hoped for, or takes everything away, we should always praise Him through it because one day, the things of earth will fall away.
My Life Be Like (feat. TobyMac) || GRITS I believe there’s a bride that’s stunning // And, I believe in the kingdom coming
God’s kingdom is coming. Whether we like it or not.
Games || Jamie Grace What’s the deal with us? // Why don’t we show more love? // I don’t understand it // Why we seem so tough? // This ain’t a battleground
This song is about saying no to the drama and games and standing up for what’s right. Love is one of the greatest things we can show for someone.
Hello Future || TobyMac Hello Jesus // I hope You understand // My last departure was never planned
Sometimes we drift away from Jesus, and it can be hard to come back to Him and apologize. But, once you get it over with, it feels like there’s been a massive load lifted off of your shoulders.
The River || Jordan Feliz All of my dirt // All of my shame // Drowned in the streams that have made me born again
Obvious? || Hollyn Isn’t it obvious? // Lose the disguise, look me in the eyes // Isn’t it obvious?
I don’t know why, but I’ve always loved this line. *shrugs*
Satellites || Capital Kings Light up a torch // Burning on forever // One flame reborn // Our worlds collide
BURN FOR THE LORD!!!
Ready for Home || Capital Kings Walkin’ these circles got me comin’ unglued // Gave You my heart and then I stole it from You
Circular reasoning is enough to bring anyone unglued XD
Prayin for You || Lecrae And matter of fact there’s somethin’ else he’s concealin’ // See, the person that I’ve been prayin’ about is really me
Content Warning: Implication of lust
Yeah, I’ve done this before. Pretended I was praying for someone else when, in reality, I was praying for myself. Sometimes, it helps.
Let’s Go (feat. TobyMac) || Group 1 Crew And make time // To turn someone’s day bright // And change how we live life (Andale, andale) // The future’s what we make it // So let’s go
The “andales” are my favorite part.
On Your Own || TobyMac Sometimes you gotta go through // What you gotta go through // Just to think it right through // But you’ll never be // On your own
God will put us through things for unknown reasons, but it’s always a part of His overarching plan.
Stand in the Rain || Superchic(k) The only way out is through everything she’s running from
Sometimes, the only way to get out of what you’re stuck in is to face it head on.
I don’t usually watch music videos, but here are some that I found in my YouTube history.
21 Years || TobyMac 21 years makes a man full-grown // 21 years, what a beautiful loan // 21 years, I love everyone // Thank you Lord for my beautiful son
Toby wrote this song for his son, Truett, after Tru’s death back in 2019, and I CRY EVERY TIME I HEAR IT!!! This is my favorite music video and when it came to the end and had clips of Tru *sobs*
Gobble Gobble (Official Lyric Video) || Matthew West Oh my my get that turkey in my belly // Oh my my with the cranberry jelly
Hey, like he says in the song, there aren’t that many songs about Thanksgiving, and this one is fantastic XD My sister was complaining about that last year and I showed her this song and it made her happy XD
Diabolical || Welsknight You say I’m not the real deal, but what good have you done? // You barely said a thing, and then you claim the battle’s won?
Content Warning: Another diss track. Mentions of murder, arson, and demons kind of?It’s mostly MInecraft speak though.
Having a rap battle with yourself is an interesting idea. *applauds Welknight’s brilliance* And yes, this is another Hermitcraft song. What can I say? I’m obsessed!
Help is on the Way (Maybe Midnight) || TobyMac Sometimes it’s days // Sometimes it’s years // Some face a lifetime of falling tears
Okay but the story in this three minute video is incredible! I love the way it ends. I love happy endings XD
The Worship Song Song || Random Action Verb Worship With no instruments // Just the voices // With no instruments // With a key change
Honestly, none of the lyrics make sense without context XD Just watch the video XD
The Wellerman TikTok Sea Chanty Mashup As far as I’ve heard, the fight’s still on // The line’s not cut, and the whale’s not gone // The Wellerman makes his regular call // To encourage the captain, crew and all
I don’t do sea shanties, but this one is so good!! Occasionally there are these gorgeous gems on TikTok that spill over to YouTube.
I literally cannot get this song out of my head.
Born Again || Newsboys I didn’t wanna fall // But I don’t have to crawl // I met the One with two scarred hands
When this song first came on, I didn’t like the verses too much. Then, the chorus exploded onto the scene and I fell hard! 😍
Heart of Stone || Britt Nicole Crash like broken glass shattered on the floor // Finally a victory I’ve never felt before
The beginning of this song was pretty strange, but the more I listen, the more it grows on me.
Dance Monkey || Tones and I Just like a monkey I’ve been dancing my whole life // But you just beg to see me dance just one more time
The title caught me off guard, but I do really enjoy this song. So many fantastic remixes!!
Headphones || Britt Nicole Her mom says she’s great // The kids think she’s weird // Honestly she wish she could disappear
One of my friends said she didn’t really enjoy this song, so I listened to it to see why she didn’t like it. I’m still not sure why she doesn’t like it.
Holiday (MyKidBrother Remix) || Britt Nicole No more drama to mess up my flow // No more questions to answer, no
The siren sounds at the beginning are….odd to say the least, but I like the tune XD
Ignition (Hot Wired Remix) || TobyMac So don’t blink when you wanna come cross the border // Take a look around or come test the water
The original Ignition wasn’t my favorite but I absolutely love the differences in this one!! Plus, that piano in the last chorus is gorgeous!!
Gotta Go || TobyMac Tobymac can’t get to the phone // Please leave a message after the tone
I didn’t like this song at first, but it’s growing on me. Plus, little Tru!! So precious!!
Keep Goin’ (feat. Capital Kings) || Group 1 Crew Goin’ goin’ goin’ goin’ // I recommend, don’t follow no trend
This is one of the newer Group 1 Crew songs, written after Blanca left the group. I wasn’t sure if it would be that great, but I was not disappointed!! Ahh, I love Group 1 Crew so much!!!
Gold || Owl City I don’t need the stars in the night // I found my treasure
Guys. I am so obsessed with this song. I’ve been listening to it for the majority of this blog post. It matches two of my characters so well and GAH I love it so much!! Plus, Adam Young’s voice is really unique. It adds a beautiful color to the tune.
The Bees are Coming || elybeatmaker and Cubfan The bees are coming // The bees!
Dibby Dibby Diamonds || elybeatmaker and Grian Dibby dibby diamonds // Good luck remixing that one!
Okay, may as well dump the last of these songs here XD Seriously, Hermitcraft remixes are the best!!
Way Beyond Myself || Newsboys Like the wind that moves the leaves // Lord, You move me to my knees // Even into something way beyond myself
This one reminds me of Born Again, but….better. Don’t question me. I’m weird.
Stories (Down to the Bottom) || TobyMac We’ve been down to the bottom // Stories we got ’em, when we hit rock bottom
The tune is the main reason I love this song.
Let it Roll || Group 1 Crew Feel the rhythm in your soul // And all your worries, let them go
This song is so unbelievably upbeat, and always energizes me!! Plus, it feels so different in several places. It really adds to the song!
This category is a mix of Christian love, God’s love and romantic love.
His Kind of Love (Capital Kings Remix) || Group 1 Crew Tell me what kind of God would choose to save // The bruised, the broken, the sinners, the runaways
What kind of God would choose to save such horrible sinners? God’s love is incredible.
I prefer the remixed version of this song to the original because I really enjoy Capital Kings’ songwriting style.
Nothin’ on You || Hollyn Might have a million dollars in the bank // Thirty cars with the yacht on the lake // Just ’cause you got it don’t mean you gotta flaunt it // He’s the one who paid the price, yeah, He got it
The love of Jesus trumps the love of any guy here on earth. *shakes finger* Remember that, you little whippersnappers.
😂 I’m such a nut!
Bella || Jamie Grace When You call me Your bella // I know I’m Your mija
Spanish! I love Spanish, and it fits so well in this song!!
Only Love || Jordan Feliz Someone say amen // If you know what I’m talking about
One of a Kind || Jamie Grace To You I’m not as crazy as I think
I am as crazy as I think, but God loves me anyway! (Thank goodness!)
I’ll Wait || The Strumbellas I’ll wait, I’ll wait to be the one // To catch you when you’re falling
Liesl just introduced me to this song today, and I love it!! The tune and the lyrics work together so well!!
Is….is that really the end?
*wipes brow* Guys, this post took me four days to write. I loved every second, but….yeesh XD

I have so many pet peeves over so many random things.
I really hate when people spell words wrong. That just….really gets on my nerves for some reason. I can also be pretty OCD about things. Like, take a Christmas tree. If the ornaments aren’t spread equally over the tree, I just….*inhales deeply*…..I have to leave the room for a bit XD
2. Name Your Favorite Music Artists (Any Genre).
Oh, now you’re asking for it!
TobyMac, Hollyn, Jamie Grace, Group 1 Crew, Britt Nicole, Jordan Feliz, Newsboys, Francesca Battistelli, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Owl City, Imagine Dragons, for KING & COUNTRY, Superchic(k), The Script, elybeatmaker (I am not sorry), Casting Crowns, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Capital Kings, and a sprinkle of others that I’ve only heard one or two songs from.
There’s probably others that I can’t think of right now.
I’ll post more about songs and songwriters next week, so yeah, stay tuned for that if you want to hear me ramble about my favorite subject EVER.
3. Describe Yourself in Three Words.
Just three? Why not twelve paragraphs plus footnotes?
GOOD GRIEF, ANANYA JUST SEEMS DETERMINED TO ASK THE HARDEST QUESTIONS EVER
No specific book, just PERCY JACKSON
5. Tea or Coffee?
6. Who’s Your Role Model?
For what field of life? Because I have several.
Writing: Rick Riordan and Andrew Peterson
I look up to Rick Riordan because of his incredible writing voice. The way he describes things is amazing! I’ve been kind of studying his descriptions so I can improve. This is how I learn things. I study on my own time 😅
I look up to Andrew Peterson because of the story development he did before he started writing The Wingfeather Saga. He wrote the history of his fantasy land, Aerwiar, before he started writing the actual books so that he could understand how to write about it. That’s dedication right there, and I can appreciate dedication like that.
Songwriting: Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, TobyMac, and Francesca Battistelli
I look up to Benj Pasek and Justin Paul because OH MY GOODNESS THEIR MUSIC IS AMAZING!!!! But, they are also so incredibly talented at writing inspirational songs. Music has incredible power when used right, and having an understanding of that power is what makes a talented songwriter.
I look up to TobyMac because he is one of the oldest artists I can remember listening to on a regular basis. My dad has listened to his music as far back as I can remember, and there’s just something about Toby’s music. Some of the genres he sings in I wouldn’t listen to but because they’re TobyMac songs that just makes them…..better, I guess. Considering what he’s been through in the past couple of years, the fact that he is still singing songs that are Biblically correct is impressive, especially when several artists are now turning away from the doctrine that they’ve been preaching for years.
I look up to Francesca Battistelli because of the way her songs are written. They’re so pretty and they have such great lyrics! Not to mention, her voice is beautiful!!
I also look up to several other artists, but this might get kind of long if I keep going. 😅
Acting: Phillipa Soo and Tom Hiddleston
I look up to Phillipa Soo because, ever since I started listening to Hamilton, she’s always been one of my favorite actresses. They way she conveys emotion is amazing. Putting full passion into sadness can be hard sometimes, but she does it so beautifully and gracefully.
I look up to Tom Hiddleston for some of the same reasons I look up to Phillipa Soo. I’ve only seen one Thor movie, but I could see the depth behind Loki’s character that Tom Hiddleston portrayed so delicately. It only took all that feeling to turn Loki into my favorite Marvel character. No, I’m not a Loki fangirl, what are you talking about?
And then, of course, I look up to the wonderful friends and family that I’ve been blessed with. I take influence from waaaay too many places to list here, but this is just a choice few.
7. What’s Your Favorite Quote?
It’s on the home page of my blog:
Be yourself, because everyone else is already taken.
I don’t know what it is about this quote, but it is so beautiful.
I also like this one:
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.
And yes, before you start typing, I already know that this quote is also from Kung Fu Panda. Let’s just ignore that, please.
8. Who’s Your Favorite Blogger?(You Can’t Name YOURSELF Like I Did Last Time)
Ha, even if I could name myself, I wouldn’t, even though I do enjoy my posts XD
9. What Are Those Things Which Will Never Change in Your Lifetime?
What do you mean by this question? Do you mean things about me or things about the world around me?
*waits for answer*
Oh right, she can’t hear me.
I’ll just list things about myself.
I know that my silliness and love of singing will never change. I will always love my family, no matter what happens. I will always have crazy, random ideas popping into my head. And of course, most importantly, I will always love and trust in the Lord, because I know He will always take care of me.
10. Choose One: Hollywood or Bollywood
11. What’s the Color of Your Soul?
Is this a personality quiz thing?
*searches Google* Ooh, it is! I love personality quizzes!
Your soul is both serene and radiant. Its lovely green and golden hues make it the perfect shade of chartreuse. When you are with your friends, they can feel your inner warmth encompassing them, and they always feel more enlightened when they leave. You are a true gem in the soul department, and you should flaunt your soul’s color every chance you get.
That’s what I got. Yeah, sure, that’s definitely me. 😂 I took another test and it gave me Indigo, but that definitely didn’t suit me.
Eh, personality quizzes rarely ever label me correctly. I think the only personality quizzes to label me correctly was the Official Godly Parent Quiz on the Percy Jackson website, and the MBTI quiz.
I don’t know why, but the size and shape of that banner thingy is really annoying me
Not too long ago, I was scrolling through a post on one of the blogs I follow, when I saw my name. Intrigued, I scrolled back up, and realized that I was tagged. Alright, now that all that boring stuff is out of the way, let’s move on to the fun stuff: the questions!!
1. What Is Your Favorite Hobby?
If anyone knows me, they know that this is a loaded question XD The amount of hobbies I have is ridiculous.
I love scrapbooking, because putting pictures and journaling on a page to preserve memories is so much fun. My family has been scrapbooking for almost my whole life, and I love looking at all the pictures.
I also enjoy writing songs, because there’s nothing quite like putting melodies and harmonies and stories and accompaniments together to make something that might touch someone’s life.
And I love to write and sing and act and a bunch of other stuff.
I guess I really don’t have a “favorite” hobby. I love them all!
2. Have You Ever Dyed Your Hair?
No, I haven’t, but I would like to one day. Maybe highlights or tips?
If I were to dye it, I’m not sure what color I would get. Literally everyone says purple (including the personality quizzes I took!) but I would also love to have blue.
3. What Is an Abnormal Fear You Have?
I used to be paranoid of bugs crawling into my ears. Still am, to be honest, although not quite as much. I was a strange child.
4. Do You Like Asparagus?
Yeah, I love asparagus!! Archibald, Junior, and them. They’re great!
*director rushes in*
Oh yeah, okay.
*director nods, rushes off again*
No, I hate asparagus. It tastes nasty. And the texture….*shivers*
5. Scrunchies, Yay or Nay?
I used to have a scrunchie that I wore on my wrist for no reason whatsoever.
Then the rubber band snapped, and I was very sadz.
6. What, In Your Opinion, Is the Point of Life?
I think the purpose of life is to love and serve God. No one knows the real reason He put us on this earth, but our existence is not pointless, and never will be. It’s up to God to decide what we are here for. He loves all of his children and wants them to love Him back.
That was an unexpected question. Is the next one more lighthearted?
7. Do You Use Text Abbreviations While Actually Texting?
Yeah, this is definitely a lot more lighthearted.
I don’t text, mainly because I don’t have a phone, but if I did text, there would be little to no abbreviations. I prefer proper grammar 98% of the time.

What Was Your Favorite TV Show When You Were Younger?
When I was younger, my mom read a chapter from the Narnia books every day as part of school. Sometimes she would let me or my brother read it so she could rest her voice. Those days were special because we learned a lot about C. S. Lewis’s world. It was fun to find the parallels between Narnia and the Bible! However, we started to get bored of that around the…..third book. In my opinion, the quality just started going down after The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe. By the time we got to The Last Battle, my mom was just reading it by herself 😅😅
Still, we were still pretty big Narnia fans, and the whole “going to Narnia” by getting in a closet joke stands to this day XD
So, without further ado, I give you the Narnia Tag!!
Just in case you’re one of those people who reads the rules XD
Thank the person who nominated you ✔

The Rate of Narnia Fanatics:
Nostalgic Fanatic—You read the books and/or watched the movies as a child and the word Narnia gives you a warm feeling.
Serious Fanatic—You rediscovered the wonder of Narnia after you were older and have read the books and watched the movies.
Maniacal Fanatic—You have lived Narnia from childhood, hid in closets on more accounts than is healthy, have read and watched all the movies including the BBC version.
I’m…actually a blend of all three. I read the books when I was younger, and watched the movies after I got older. I still read the books every now and then. And then, of course, I’ve hid in plenty of closets. (I remember once, I was mad at one of my friends, and told her to go to Narnia XP I wonder if she remembers that XD) I didn’t know there were BBC movies though. *shrugs* You learn something new every day.
1. Who Is Your Favorite Pevensie Sibling?
From the beginning of Narnia, Susan has always been my favorite. The amount of fanart I drew for her, the amount of time I spent fangirling over her, the amount of OneNote spreads I dedicated to her (I was strange)……she was my favorite, and honestly still is. I think it’s her bow. *nods*
2. What Is the Most Underrated Book in the Series?
*blushes* Um….I wouldn’t know. Although not a lot of people seem to have heard of The Magician’s Nephew (which is my favoriteeeeee). If you haven’t read it GO READ IT. It’s the start of Narnia! The creation of the world we all know and love!
Okay, moving on.
3. Who Is Your Favorite Narnian King?
Hooboy. There’s a lot to choose from.
*sits here for 20 minutes trying to remember all the kings*
*is about to say Aslan*
The cabby guy!! He’s from The Magician’s Nephew. He becomes the first king of Narnia, after Aslan. Love that guy.
4. Who Is Your Favorite Narnian Queen?
Well, the cabby’s wife, obviously! She seems like a nice person!
5. Which Non-Human Narnian Do You Like?
Oof. There’s a lot to choose from.
I like the beavers from The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe. They make me laugh every time XD
6. Which Book Deserves a Movie?
THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW
7. What Is One Thing You Did As a Narnia Fanatic That You Do Not Regret?
Commanding my friend to get in the closet, as I’ve mentioned before.
Man, I’m a nut XD
I’m not sure who’s done this and who hasn’t and who’s already been tagged, so I’m just not going to tag anyone.
I’m a rebel.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know your thoughts down below!!
Also, let me know if you’ve ever commanded a friend to go to Narnia so I know I’m not alone in this XD
