The Reflections Tag ~ In Which 2020 is a Hero

2020 was a rough year for everyone. It had its fair share of ups and downs (and lefts and rights, too). However, we are not focusing on the lefts and rights today. This tag is all about the good things about 2020.

So, let’s be optimistic!!

1. Thank the person who tagged you (Thanks Essie!)

2. Share 8 of the things God blessed you with or taught you in 2020

3. Tag 5+ bloggers

Can I call this “Questions”, even if there are no questions? Yes, yes I can.

1. I Joined the Young Writers’ Workshop (aka YDubs)

It was 9:30 on a Thursday night. I was in my room doing who-knows-what (probably reading), when I heard Mom call my name. To be honest, I thought I was in trouble, but I wasn’t sure why. However, I was not in trouble! Mom handed me her phone, which was on a page called “The Young Writers’ Workshop“. Curious, I scrolled through the page, taking in all the information. The lessons looked exciting, the instructors seemed pretty cool, and the unity and community that the website offered was very appealing. After scrolling through twice, I said, “This looks awesome!”

And so began my time on YDubs! I have learned so much about how to improve my writing. After all, if it wasn’t for YDubs, this blog probably wouldn’t exist! I am now plotting a novel (something I wouldn’t have ever thought to do before YDubs), blogging consistently (which is also because of y’all!), and I’m in a better place spiritually and emotionally!

(If anyone is interested in joining YDubs, registration is open!)

2. My Friend Group Grew

This is technically an extension of the first one, but I made so many wonderful friends in just a couple of months after I joined YDubs! And they were all like me!! Crazy, weird, and sarcastic writers who were chock-full of ideas!

Of course, I’ve also made great friends from blogging, which has been awesome too!

3. I Met My Best Friend

And this one is an extension of the first two XD

I remember the first time I started chatting with Liesl. We were a little bit stiff at first, because, after all, we didn’t know each other very well. We talked about the stuff writers talk about, and told about our siblings and their crazy antics.

And suddenly, it happened. We just…..became best friends! I seriously don’t remember when or how it happened. We just went from stiff and slightly formal to literally SCREAMING at each other about various things.

And that’s the best kind of friendship there is.

4. Construction Finished on Our House

Back in 2019 (that ancient year of bliss and happiness ๐Ÿ˜…), we hired someone to add two bedrooms and a bathroom on to our house. They started in October, and finally finished in January, just a couple of months before the craziness happened.

Let me tell you, it was so much fun to watch the construction process. From the bare bones, to the unpainted walls, to the wooden floors and the finished product, we had such a good time looking around the rooms each evening after they finished for the day. (Our favorite thing to do was hide in the closets and go to Narnia.)

And we didn’t run into any problems, like they always do on HGTV!

Until after they were all finished and the floor started leaking. They came back and fixed it though, so it wasn’t that big of a deal.

5. I Got to See My Cousin More Than Once

Under normal circumstances, I usually just see my cousin, Lizi, once or twice a year. But, in 2020, I saw her four times!! And she got to sleep over at our house, which never happens! It was the best!

6. I Had the Best Birthday I’ve Ever Had

It didn’t matter that my Dad tested positive for COVID on my birthday, it was still the very best!

I got to have donuts, croissants, and pigs-in-a-blanket for breakfast, which are usually things that we only have on Christmas Day. The decorations were absolutely beautiful (which makes sense, because my mother and my sister went all-out for me), and the presents were all things that had been on my list!

After lunch, I went to town with my mom so I could get my learner’s license. I was absolutely terrified that I was going to fail the test, but I actually only missed one question! I wasn’t quite ready to drive yet, so I let Mom do all that fun stuff XD

We visited my Dad at his office and then got ice cream from the best (well, second best. Brewster’s is the best) ice cream shop in the world: Dairy Queen!

After we ate our ice cream, Mom let me go on a controlled shopping spree in Wal-Mart, which was fun! I love shopping in Wal-Mart! Because I’m basic.

And literally, when we got to our car after shopping, Mom got a text from Dad saying that his COVID test had come back positive, and we had to quarantine. So, we picked up some pizza for supper and went home, where I sorted through all my birthday wishes on YDubs, had a Zoom call with some friends, and played MarioKart with my siblings, and dominated as always. ๐Ÿ˜‡

I haven’t had as wonderful of a birthday since.

I also haven’t had a birthday since, but that doesn’t matter.

7. I Started Driving

I didn’t actually start driving until a whole month after I’d gotten my permit, but I still started driving! And let me tell you, learning to drive a 12-passenger van is no easy task. I wasn’t brave enough to go any faster than 45 MPH (60 KPH, yes, Canadians, you are welcome), but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Driving is fun! Now, I’m literally driving everywhere. My mom isn’t allowed to drive unless she’s going somewhere without me XD

8. I Joined a Band Class

Okay, technically this didn’t officially happen until 2021, but I visited the class in October, so I’ll count it. The class was meeting on Zoom, so, even though they was based in Michigan, I was still able to join! And, the teacher allowed me to write a song for the class to play, which was pretty awesome. I cried. A lot.

9. We Got a Puppy!

Some of you might remember my post where I introduced our puppy, Cookie. He was such a sweet and cuddly ball of fur and love, and he was absolutely precious!! Now, he is ten times the size he was when we first got him, and bites everything XD He’s still so sweet though!

Okay, yeah, I went one over, but so many wonderful things happened, it was impossible to choose just eight!!

Laurel Jean

What are some awesome things that happened to you in 2020? I’d love to hear about them!

Thanks for reading!

Me and Music Tag ~ In Which MUSIC

If I had an official songwriting station, it would look like that. Or messier. Probably twice as messy.

Anyways, what’s up folks? As promised in my last post, here I am with a music post! I found this tag on Maya’s blog and then Liesl did it a couple of weeks ago and reminded me how badly I wanted to do it! I’ve been wanting to do it since the end of March, but, you know, awards come first.

I have a three-page-long list of some of my favorite songs (it’s impossible to have all of them. Like holiday songs. I don’t have any of those) that I have been stockpiling for a long time and I am going to attempt to cram them all into this one post.

Something tells me that putting 137 songs in one measly post is going to be a challenge. (And yes, I did just count all of them to get that figure) But, I am going to try my best!

Also, I put the graphics in rainbow order because I am set in the Moriah Elizabeth way of thinking, and plus, who doesn’t love rainbows?

So, let’s get started!!

The Rules:

  1. Link back to the original post so Sophie can see your answers and listen to the tunes. โœ”
  2. For every prompt you choose to do, name 1-5 songs. (Sorry, but I love way too many songs to be able to stick to this XD)
  3. Have fun and play your music LOUD! โœ”

Aladdin 2019 || Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Alan Menken

Speechless sold me on this one. But also, Will Smith’s versions of the songs are just spot-on! And yes, I am not ashamed to say that I have almost the entire soundtrack memorized.

Frozen II || Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez

How could you not love this one? Into the Unknown and Show Yourself topped Let It Go, which many of us (yes, me included) did not think was possible XD And honestly, Kristoff’s song Lost in the Woods was just…..a jam XD I love everything about this soundtrack and each and every song is on my piano music wishlist.

Hamilton || Lin-Manuel Miranda

Honestly, I just….if you know, you know.

Dear Evan Hansen || Benj Pasek and Justin Paul

Same reasons as Hamilton XD

Annie || Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin

When I first listened to the Annie soundtrack, I didn’t think I was going to like it very much. But, it definitely exceeded my expectations, and yes, it’s the hard-knock life for me too, my peeps.

The Greatest Showman || Benj Pasek and Justin Paul

Send Me || Lecrae
America ain’t Christian, they just practicin’ the ritual

The first time I ever heard this song, my dad was driving in our neighborhood towards our house. Nothing in the lyrics remind me of home, I’m just reminded of where we were when I heard this song. *shrugs* Brains are weird.

Shine || Newsboys
Shine. // Make ’em wonder whatcha got. // Make ’em wish that they were not // On the outside looking bored

Before I knew this was a Newsboys song, my dad would play it on the piano. I can remember him playing it before we moved to the house we’re at now, and I would jam out to it.

This turned out being a nostalgia section ๐Ÿ˜…

I don’t listen to any of the songs in the secular charts, so I looked up Billboard’s Christian Hits list.

Truth Be Told || Matthew West
But didn’t you say the church should look more like a hospital // A safe place for the sick, the sinner and the scarred and the prodigals

Truth is being told in this song, and I absolutely love it. Matthew West is a talented songwriter, and I should listen to his music more often.

Start Right Here || Casting Crowns
What if the church on Sunday // Was still the church on Monday too?

Another song that tells the truth in a hard but true way. This is one of my favorite Casting Crowns songs, just because it starts with a powerful punch to the Christian conscience.

Church Clap (feat. Trip Lee) || KB
Preach the gospel, and stand back // Look for changed lives not for hand claps

When I went to camp a couple of years ago, there were Church Clap flash mobs everywhere you turned XD I love this song, and honestly, it’s impossible to not dance when it comes on.

Move || MercyMe
I just might bend but I won’t break // As long as I can see Your face

Every time this song comes on, I cannot stop bopping my head up and down! When I’m in a decent place (aka not at my desk XD) I just have to bust a move or two or twelve.

More Doors For Me || elybeatmaker and Grian
A door // For me // Another door for me

Resource Gathering || elybeatmaker and Etho
Listen to my jabbering // About the resource gathering // My never-ending stammering // As I’m resource gathering

Yes, I listen to Hermitcraft remixes and I am not sorry at all XD If you don’t watch the Hermitcraft Minecraft videos you should, because they’re amazing and pretty funny!

More Doors For Me and Resource Gathering are my favorite Hermitcraft remixes and they’re such jams! I can’t help but tap my feet along to the beat!

Horizon || TobyMac
There’s coming a day, coming a day we gonna rise up // We won’t give up the fight

I have actually jumped up and danced along to this song before. In my bedroom where no one could see, but still XD This is my favorite song from TobyMac’s The Elements album, and…..I just love it so much.

Live Out Loud || Group 1 Crew
Give an autograph not because I’m a star // But ’cause a lil’ bit of nice goes far

The beat is just…..something on this song, and I love all the background stuff Manny added towards the end XD Sometimes, Group 1 Crew songs make me laugh, sometimes they make me jam, and sometimes they do both!

Start Somewhere || TobyMac
I said some things that I regret // And if I could, I’d take ’em back // If I could turn my words around // You wouldn’t hear a sound

What genre of music is this song? Whatever it is, I love it XD Toby’s always been good about having a diversity of genres for his albums. And the gunshot at the endddd XD

Brave || Moriah Peters
I know, I know I’m no superwoman // But impossible is possible with You

Moriah Peters’ voice is super strong in this song, and it just makes me want to rock out! Admittedly, this is the only Moriah Peters song I’ve heard so her voice might be strong in other songs, but I digress.

Ill-M-I || TobyMac
Ill-M-I, Ill-M-I, Ill-M-I, Ill-M-I and you // Illuminati comin’ thru

This is….definitely one of the stranger ones of TobyMac’s songs, but I can’t help but tap my toes along to the beat!

Stand By You || Rachel Platten
Oh, tears make kaleidoscopes in your eyes // And hurt, I know you’re hurting but so am I

Yes, I put this on my list instead of Fight Song, and no, you will not see Fight Song anywhere on this list XD I love Fight Song, but Stand By You is my favorite of the two. (Whoa, rhymes)

Concrete || Britt Nicole
‘Cause we found each other // We won’t buckle under // We’ll break the edge of the knife

I just heard this one for the first time the other day, but it’s going on the list of favorites because I LIKE IT.

Well, that was long. Next category!

Yeah, I technically already did this one when I did the first category XD Here are some of my favorites:

Disappear || Dear Evan Hansen
No one should flicker out or have any doubt // That it matters that they are here

Requiem || Dear Evan Hansen
I gave you the world, you threw it away // Leaving these broken pieces behind you

Satisfied || Hamilton
I know my sister like I know my own mind // You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind

Burn || Hamilton
Your sentences border on senseless // And you are paranoid in every paragraph

Aaron Burr, Sir || Hamilton
If you stand for nothing, Burr, what’ll you fall for?

You Will Be Found || Dear Evan Hansen
So let the sun come streaming in // ‘Cause you’ll reach up and you’ll rise again

The Hard-Knock Life || Annie
‘Steada treated // We get tricked // ‘Steada kisses // We get kicked

Speechless || Aladdin 2019
I will take these broken wings // And watch me burn across the sky

Friend Like Me || Aladdin 2019
I got a powerful urge to help you out // So whatcha wish? // I really want to know

Rewrite the Stars || The Greatest Showman
All I want is to fly with you // All I want is to fall with you

Never Enough || The Greatest Showman
Towers of gold are still too little // These hands could hold the world but it’ll // Never be enough

The Other Side || The Greatest Showman
If I were mixed up with you, I’d be the talk of the town // Disgraced and disowned, another one of the clowns

From Now On || The Greatest Showman
Let this promise in me start // Like an anthem in my heart

Show Yourself || Frozen II
Something is familiar // Like a dream, I can reach but not quite hold

When I am Older || Frozen II
‘Cause when you’re older // Absolutely everything makes sense

All is Found || Frozen II
Yes, she will sing to those who’ll hear // And in her song, all magic flows

Made For Me || TobyMac
Well I got white skin and she got brown skin // But milk and coffee’s always been a beautiful blend

This is such a sweet song that Toby wrote for his wife, and I used to listen to it all the time when I was little. It’s still one of my favorites to this day.

Get Back Up || TobyMac
And there’s always scars // When you fall that far

I heard this one before I knew TobyMac’s name. The radio is a magical place when you’re nine-years-old (or younger), and my jaw never fails to drop when I hear a song from the ancient days of my childhood XD

Hall of Fame || The Script
Do it for your people, do it for your pride // How you ever gonna know if you never even try?

I heard a clip of this song in a Disney Jr. commercial (I have younger siblings, okay?), and I had no idea what it was called, and then, to my surprise, it was in a baseball commercial which actually cited the name of the song and the songwriters, so I looked it up and listened to it and promptly fell in love with it! (Plus, it’s so much fun to play on the piano)

Blessings || Laura Story
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?

I first remember hearing this at my grandmother’s funeral. I was six or seven at the time, and my little mind thought that it was such a beautiful song.

My fifteen year old mind thinks the same thing ๐Ÿ˜…

Does this mean I haven’t matured much?

Creeper Rap || Dan Bull
Darling, oh, what you crying for? // Did somebody break your diamond sword?

Yes, I’m sorry, another Minecraft song. I love almost all of Dan Bull’s Minecraft raps, but this one was the first I heard.

Sometimes having Minecraft-obsessed friends is a good thing.

Now that I’ve listened all of the raps, Creeper Rap is probably my least favorite, but still. Memories.

Thrive || Casting Crowns
Joy unspeakable, faith unsinkable // Love unstoppable, anything is possible

We sang this at the end of a homeschool group end-of-the-year program, and I totally forgot about that until my brother reminded me a few weeks ago. I didn’t know this song at all, but I think I managed to do a pretty good job learning as we went XD

Eye of the Storm || Ryan Stevenson
And when the tears of pain and heartache are pouring down my face // I find my peace in Jesus’ Name

Back during Tropical Storm Irma and Hurricane Michael, we had to go hide in the hallway. Whenever that happens, this song is always playing in the back of my mind and helps me be strong for my younger siblings.

In the Light || DC Talk
This only serves to confirm my suspicions // I’m still a man in need of a Savior

Yeah, this song is kind of maybe possibly dated just a little, but, I mean….DC Talk!

DC Talk was definitely before my time and I don’t usually listen to music that old, but there are some songs that I really like for whatever reason. This was the first song that I ever heard by them (Jesus Freak followed soon after), and…….I’ve kind of forgotten how to sing anything besides the harmony part XD

Priceless || for KING & COUNTRY
Sisters, we can start again // Give honor to the end, love // We can start again

City on Our Knees || TobyMac
Tonight’s the night // For the sinners and the saints // Two worlds collide in a beautiful display

Another TobyMac song that I heard on the radio when I was little. There are quite a few of these. Don’t worry, I won’t list all of them XD

But….isn’t this all these songs? I….I don’t understand this one…XD

Yeah, I sing or hum along to every song I know. And I don’t sing terribly, thank you very much XD (I have actually found it very different to sing badly, whether accidentally or on purpose ๐Ÿ˜… Is that a good thing?)

Here are some of the ones I love to sing along to:

Undeniable || TobyMac
Your work doesn’t stop with me // Your signature’s on everything we see // From the hills of Negril, Jamaica // To the kid that the doctor said would never make it

This song is just so beautiful. It’s a reminder that God is in control of everything, and it’s impossible to deny that He exists. I love singing it so much!

iContact || Group 1 Crew
I canโ€™t explain it, the lovely things that You do // Whatever it takes, gotta make eye contact with You

I don’t know too many of the lyrics to this song, but what I do know, I sing along to because of the clever wordplay in places XD I love Group 1 Crew, if you couldn’t tell.

Favorite Song || TobyMac
I’ma leave my selfish melodies // Wanna be in Your beautiful symphony

When I first heard this song, it was stuck in my head for THREE STRAIGHT DAYS. It’s very catchy, and fun to sing!

With You || Jamie Grace
See I misplaced my master plan // Courtesy of my attention span

This song is just a sweet reminder of what’s it’s like to spend some time with God, and it’s catchy, like most of Jamie’s songs.

Alligator Sky (No Rap Version) || Owl City
Remember to live, because you’re gonna be thrilled to death

I loooooove the melody on this one!! Owl City’s songs are always so beautifully written!

Believer || Imagine Dragons
I was chokin’ in the crowd // Building my rain up in the cloud // Falling like ashes to the ground // Hoping my feelings, they would drown

I don’t like the lyrics on this one as much as the rest of the song. (Maybe it’s the songwriter in me, but I rarely pay attention to the lyrics of a song when I first hear it) I do love the chord progression, and this song gets stuck in my head every time I hear it ๐Ÿ˜…

Demons || Imagine Dragons
Don’t get too close, it’s dark inside // It’s where my demons hide, it’s where my demons hide

Content Warning: Mentions of demons, as obviously proved from the title of the song

I love how this song starts with piano and then switches to the dynamic that all of Imagine Dragons’ songs have. And the melody!! Ahh, so pretty!!

Enemy || Newsboys
Who was I to sit and judge? // Always pointing my crooked finger

The melody of the chorus makes this song my absolute favorite Newsboys song! *turns on song and hums along*

He Knows My Name || Francesca Battistelli
I’m not living for applause // I’m already so adored

This is one of the few songs that I paid attention to the lyrics when I first heard it. I think it’s a good reminder that we don’t need to be loved by everyone, because God already loves us.

He Said || Group 1 Crew
Who you are ain’t what your going through // So don’t let it get the best of you

When I first heard this song, I didn’t know who Group 1 Crew was, then I found out and fell in love with their music, and it made me happy to discover that this song was theirs. I love Group 1 Crew so much!!

If We’re Honest || Francesca Battistelli
There is freedom found when we lay our secrets down at the cross

I heard clips of this song in various places until I listened to the whole thing. This is one of my favorite Francesca Battistelli songs.

One Song at a Time || Jamie Grace
We be passin’ out love like the offering’ plates // And we be spreadin’ this joy like it’s jelly or jam

This is one of Jamie Grace’s debut songs and it’s really pretty. I think it also reflects every musician: If you hand them their instrument, they’ll play a tune and sing and dance the whole night through.

Warriors || Imagine Dragons
Here we are, don’t turn away now // We are the warriors that built this town // From dust.

Honestly…..the amount of shouting in this song is ridiculous. I feel like you could kill your voice singing like that.

I still like it though XD

We Live || Superchic(k)
Waking up to another dark morning // People are mourning // The weather in life outside is storming

Content Warning: Death, cancer, general sad things

I think this genre is called Urban Pop? Maybe? Whatever it is, it’s one of my favorites.

Made to Love || TobyMac
I feel a breeze cover me called Jehovah // And Daddy, I’m on my way

This has always been my favorite TobyMac song, and it always will be. Probably. He’s not retired yet XD

It’s a great reminder that we’re here to love and show God’s light.

Hermitgang || Rendog, MajesticTaco, Xisumavoid, Welsknight, ImpulseSV, Docm77, Skellythekid and MumboJumbo
You’re guilty of getting murdered with words // Y’all are out-gunned, go home nerds

Content Warning: This is a diss track, so lots of roasts, mentions of death, and gruesome Minecraft references (that aren’t technically gruesome in the game)

Yes, another Hermitcraft song. This one is not a remix, actually. It’s a song that several of the YouTubers put together themselves, and it’s very well-done. I love rapping along XD

Mumbo AFK || elybeatmaker and Grian
Mumbo Jumbo you are AFK // I’m gonna take that mustache away!

This one is a Hermitcraft remix. Technically, it was just a little ditty that was sung by Grian, a YouTuber, and his fanbase went nuts with it!

It’s a total jam!

Arch-Illager Rap || Dan Bull
You can try assembling a rebellion of adventurers // It’s never gonna bother me, my friend, so don’t pretend it does

Content Warning: This is technically a Minecraft song so there’s a little bit of Minecraft lingo, hypnosis, shunning, burning, and mentions of liquor (but they’re referring to potions. Rhymes are a thing). I promise it’s not as bad as it sounds.

Minecraft Dungeons is such an awesome game, and Dan Bull made sure to make a rap for the boss, the Arch-Illager. This is my favorite out of all his raps, and singing and rapping along is so much fun!

Greater || MercyMe
Bring your doubts // And bring your fears // Bring your hurt // And bring your tears

I don’t remember where I heard this song for the first time, how old I was or anything, but it still sends me on such a nostalgia trip when I hear it!

Go || Hollyn
You must have some magnet in your soul // Pullinโ€™ me away from what I know

Content Warning: This song implies a very unhealthy relationship so interpret that as you will.

It’s the prechorus that sold me on this one. MINOR CHORDS

Work of Art || Britt Nicole
Comparing is poison // That’s killing you and me // The lies of perfection // We ain’t gonna believe

I love Britt Nicole’s voice so much, and she doesn’t disappoint on this song. The melody is absolutely beautiful!!

Normal || Jamie Grace
And I know it’s a little bit 1991 pop song, to say, “Just be yourself” // So call me a 1991 pop song, don’t wanna be nobody else

This is one of Jamie’s more recent songs and OH MY GOODNESS I JUST LOVE IT SO MUCH

If you listen, you’ll understand.

True Colors (Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake version) || Tom Kelly, Billy Steinberg, Justin Timberlake, and Anna Kendrick
Show me a smile then // Don’t be unhappy // Can’t remember when // I last saw you laughing

When we first watched Trolls, we were obsessed with the soundtrack and listened to it all the time! My dad and I used to duet on this song, and it’s so beautiful!

Um….I don’t really listen to old music all that often. I prefer songs with a more modern feel to them. I think the oldest songs I’ve listened to are Disney songs ๐Ÿ˜…

Irene || TobyMac (2001)
You got to reach up to touch rock bottom // The powers that be keep you downtrodden

Content Warning: Implications of a woman pregnant outside of wedlock

This song is from Toby’s first solo album, and it’s my favorite on the album. The Hebrew feel to the chorus is so perfect and I love it so much!

My Friend || DC Talk (1998)
And I remember when you used to say // “Jesus is the way” // I never thought I’d see your light begin to fade

I love the melody of the verses! Up and down and back again, and the guitar adds a lot to it.

River Flows in You (Piano Version) || Yiruma (2001)

I honestly didn’t know this song was this old, because I’ve only been aware of its existence for a couple of years. It’s so pretty and it makes a perfect lullaby!

Yeah, these are the oldest songs on my list ๐Ÿ˜… They’re before my time, so I count them as old XD

God Girl || Jamie Grace
I’m a God girl that’s who I’ll be // From the top of my head to the soles of my feet

I have known this song for quite some time, and I love the message of it. When my sister heard it for the first time, I sang along and she gave me weird looks.

Although, she does that often.

Pigstep || Lena Raine

Yes, this is a real song and don’t you dare try to convince me otherwise.

I’ve been playing Minecraft for almost seven years, and the music never really suited my tastes. I mean, sure, it was nice, and it fit the atmosphere, but it wasn’t the kind of music that I like to listen to. And then, last summer, Mojang added the Pigstep music disc and my world exploded. I love it so much.

Keys to the Kingdom || Group 1 Crew
So many promises You gave // And we just turned and walked away // But now I see the price You paid // Was enough for us to live victorious

I was riding home with my dad after Wednesday night church and we were listening to the TobyMac radio on Pandora. This song came on, and my dad went, “I like me some Group 1 Crew.” I was surprised because I’d never heard any of their songs and yet my dad seemed to know who they were. Curious, I listened to the song and promptly fell in love. I love Group 1 Crew so much.

Beloved || Jordan Feliz
Sometimes a heart can feel like a heavy weight // It pulls you under and you just fall away

I loved this song because of the beat and it was one of my favorites. I listened to it all the time. Then, we left our homeschool group, which was where some of my best friends were, and suddenly, I found myself pretty friendless. My sister was being invited to sleepovers and playdates all the time but my friends never invited me over. I was really disappointed, and I was starting to slip into depression a little bit.

And then, this song came on and took a whole new meaning for me.

Whenever I feel bad, I listen to this song. It doesn’t always cheer me up 100% of the time, but it does chase away some of the storm clouds of life.

Love Feels Like || TobyMac
But in the depths of the trenches // Is the richest of riches // Love is calling us to more

In the aforementioned homeschool group, every week one of the families would do a “family presentation” where they told a little bit about themselves so everyone could get to know them better. Well, one of the families consisted of some massive TobyMac fans, and, for their family presentation, they did a lip sync of this song! It was honestly very well done, and ridiculously funny XD

While You Were Sleeping (Original Christmas Version) || Casting Crowns
United States of America // Looks like another silent night // As we’re sung to sleep by philosophies // That save the trees and kill the children

That line hits hard, doesn’t it? I remember when our church choir performed this song in the Christmas program. I cried.

Thunder || Imagine Dragons

Me and my sisters were playing on our trampoline once, and I was playing a very dramatic character who liked to call lightning from the sky at random times and shout, “LIGHTNING CRACKABOOM THUNDER FIRE DEATH CRACKABOOM” and my sister sang this song whenever I did that XD

Sixteen || Jamie Grace
Bear with me // I’m only sixteen

I’m fifteen but I know what it feels like to have so much pressure on your shoulders as you grow. This song reminds me that I’m only a teenager and I’m blessed to have a family that will take care of me as I learn what it means to live in the real world.

Still That Girl || Britt Nicole
Sometimes life don’t go the way you planned // And we all have days when we just don’t understand

Every time this song comes on, I imagine a “music video” in my head for it. (That’s one of my favorite things to do. You should try it! Imagine characters doing whatever the song says.) I don’t know why, but my “music video” just kind of calms me down.

*shrugs* I’m a strange child.

Better || Britt Nicole
Paper planes in the sky crashing one at a time // Praying that they don’t land where you hide

This song doesn’t have Britt’s usual feel. The accompaniment only has a couple of instruments and it’s really simple, which I love.

Only Jesus || Casting Crowns
But all an empty world can sell is empty dreams

I heard this song in a few TikToks (no, I’m not on TikTok, I watch YouTubers react to TikToks. I will probably never join TikTok *shivers*). I could only hear bits and pieces in the TikToks, and I was kind of curious as to what song it was. And then, this song came on my Pandora radio and I almost fell out of my chair XD

Not the End of Me || Group 1 Crew
Now I’m sitting here feeling so defeated // It’s like you punched my heart, call that a heart beating.

This song is technically about breaking up with a boyfriend/girlfriend, but it also can apply to losing someone you love, whether by argument, car crash, or something else. The chorus is very calming.

Heaven (Fix Things) || Jamie Grace
And I believe, everything that is broken is in Your hands // And You hold the power to turn mountains into sand and You can make a river out of dry land

God won’t always fix things here on earth, but when we get to Heaven, all the pain and hurting will disappear. It’s a good reminder in every scenario.

Live About It (lo-fi) || Jamie Grace
You could call it opposites attract // For a king to live among the pack // Or just call it like it is // The way we need to live

This song squeezed a tear or two out when I first heard it. It’s so pretty and Jamie Grace’s vocals really bring it to life.

You’ll Never Be Alone || Capital Kings
Last week you were sayin’ that somethin’ just ain’t right // Layin’ in your bed stayin’ up all night

This is another song that I’ve come up with a “music video” for. Not going into details, but my “music video” makes me cry sometimes.

I’m Sorry || TobyMac
We overlook the broken // The homeless // And discard the poor // While we celebrate the rich and beautiful // With a wide-open door

Content Warning: This song is about current events soooo…..

If you know, you know.

Remember Me (Lullaby Version) || Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez
Know that I’m with you the only way that I can be // Until you’re in my arms again // Remember me

*wails again*

This song is so beautiful, and the context makes it 1000x better.

Giants Fall || Francesca Battistelli
The stones inside your hand might be small // But watch the giants fall

He said to them, โ€œBecause of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, โ€˜Move from here to there,โ€™ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.โ€

Matthew 17:20

Dream Big || Jamie Grace
Just give me a shot, just put me on your stage // I’ll sing, then clean up, and put the chairs away

This song is a reminder to trust the Lord and work hard to make your dreams come true.

Stronger || Mandisa
Hold on and let Him hold your hand // Go on and fall into the arms of Jesus

I don’t listen to Mandisa all that often, but I do like this song. The pain isn’t going to last forever and God is holding you in the palm of His hand. It’s motivation to stay strong and push through the pain and know that God is caring for you every step of the way.

Hero (Red Pill Remix) || Superchic(k)
If we make a choice and be the voice for those who won’t speak up for themselves // How many lives would be saved, changed, and rearranged?

Content Warning: Mentions of suicide, guns, pills, self-harm, and bullying.

The content warnings might turn people off, but this is a great song about standing up for the people who are harming and killing themselves because of the way they’re treated. I prefer the remixed version than the original solely because of the beat.

Believer || Capital Kings
I’m never hidin’ this light away // I am more than a dreamer // I’m a believer

The beat is great on this song, and the lyrics are too. It reminds me to shine for God and bring His light into other people’s lives.

Welcome to the category where Mia dumped everything that didn’t fit in other categories! Enjoy!!

Safe || Britt Nicole
You keep trying to get inside my head // While I keep trying to lose the words you said

Honestly, my favorite part of this song is when the strings slide into the chorus at the end. Chills, every time!!

I am Second || Newsboys
I’m second to One // Redeemer, The Way, The Light

This song is a good reminder that human beings aren’t the ones in charge, and that God is Lord over our lives. Plus, it just sounds so good.

Write Your Story || Francesca Battistelli
I’m an empty page // I’m an open book // Write Your story on my heart

As a writer, these lyrics appeal to me so much XD

Burn for You || TobyMac
I’d rather burn for You than fade away // I’d rather burn for You than go my way!

We should all prefer burning for our Lord and Savior, than going our own way. Light that FIRE in our hearts, Lord!!

Forsaken || Group 1 Crew
But here I stand unbroken // Here with an open heart // And in Your hands I give You all of me // Forgiven with a brand new start

I love the entire chorus on this song, but it’s a little too long to fit ๐Ÿ˜… The lyrics are fantastic and the melody is even better!

Goin Down || Group 1 Crew
The night’s young, you can call it underage.

Maybe it’s just me, but this line is so clever XD Young, underage….metaphors, am I right?

Superheroes || The Script
When you’ve been fighting for it all your life // You’ve been struggling to make things right // That’s how a superhero learns to fly

Not all superheroes get their powers from a nuclear blast. Some get their powers by pushing through the pain and hard times.

Dangerous || Group 1 Crew
I want to live dangerous // Risk it all for You, Lord // I need You to wake me up from // The life I’ve known before

We should all be willing to risk everything for the Lord.

Catchafire (White Rabbit Remix) || TobyMac
Catch a fire let it burn within // Catch a fire let it burn for Him

Higher || Unspoken
Leave me in rags and ruins and I’ll praise You through it // Clothe me in glory and riches, I’ll praise You just the same

Whether God blesses us with more than we could have ever hoped for, or takes everything away, we should always praise Him through it because one day, the things of earth will fall away.

My Life Be Like (feat. TobyMac) || GRITS
I believe there’s a bride that’s stunning // And, I believe in the kingdom coming

God’s kingdom is coming. Whether we like it or not.

Games || Jamie Grace
What’s the deal with us? // Why don’t we show more love? // I don’t understand it // Why we seem so tough? // This ain’t a battleground

This song is about saying no to the drama and games and standing up for what’s right. Love is one of the greatest things we can show for someone.

Hello Future || TobyMac
Hello Jesus // I hope You understand // My last departure was never planned

Sometimes we drift away from Jesus, and it can be hard to come back to Him and apologize. But, once you get it over with, it feels like there’s been a massive load lifted off of your shoulders.

The River || Jordan Feliz
All of my dirt // All of my shame // Drowned in the streams that have made me born again

Obvious? || Hollyn
Isn’t it obvious? // Lose the disguise, look me in the eyes // Isn’t it obvious?

I don’t know why, but I’ve always loved this line. *shrugs*

Satellites || Capital Kings
Light up a torch // Burning on forever // One flame reborn // Our worlds collide

Ready for Home || Capital Kings
Walkin’ these circles got me comin’ unglued // Gave You my heart and then I stole it from You

Circular reasoning is enough to bring anyone unglued XD

Prayin for You || Lecrae
And matter of fact there’s somethin’ else he’s concealin’ // See, the person that I’ve been prayin’ about is really me

Content Warning: Implication of lust

Yeah, I’ve done this before. Pretended I was praying for someone else when, in reality, I was praying for myself. Sometimes, it helps.

Let’s Go (feat. TobyMac) || Group 1 Crew
And make time // To turn someone’s day bright // And change how we live life (Andale, andale) // The future’s what we make it // So let’s go

The “andales” are my favorite part.

On Your Own || TobyMac
Sometimes you gotta go through // What you gotta go through // Just to think it right through // But you’ll never be // On your own

God will put us through things for unknown reasons, but it’s always a part of His overarching plan.

Stand in the Rain || Superchic(k)
The only way out is through everything she’s running from

Sometimes, the only way to get out of what you’re stuck in is to face it head on.

I don’t usually watch music videos, but here are some that I found in my YouTube history.

21 Years || TobyMac
21 years makes a man full-grown // 21 years, what a beautiful loan // 21 years, I love everyone // Thank you Lord for my beautiful son

Toby wrote this song for his son, Truett, after Tru’s death back in 2019, and I CRY EVERY TIME I HEAR IT!!! This is my favorite music video and when it came to the end and had clips of Tru *sobs*

Gobble Gobble (Official Lyric Video) || Matthew West
Oh my my get that turkey in my belly // Oh my my with the cranberry jelly

Hey, like he says in the song, there aren’t that many songs about Thanksgiving, and this one is fantastic XD My sister was complaining about that last year and I showed her this song and it made her happy XD

Diabolical || Welsknight
You say I’m not the real deal, but what good have you done? // You barely said a thing, and then you claim the battle’s won?

Content Warning: Another diss track. Mentions of murder, arson, and demons kind of? It’s mostly MInecraft speak though.

Having a rap battle with yourself is an interesting idea. *applauds Welknight’s brilliance* And yes, this is another Hermitcraft song. What can I say? I’m obsessed!

Help is on the Way (Maybe Midnight) || TobyMac
Sometimes it’s days // Sometimes it’s years // Some face a lifetime of falling tears

Okay but the story in this three minute video is incredible! I love the way it ends. I love happy endings XD

The Worship Song Song || Random Action Verb Worship
With no instruments // Just the voices // With no instruments // With a key change

Honestly, none of the lyrics make sense without context XD Just watch the video XD

The Wellerman TikTok Sea Chanty Mashup
As far as I’ve heard, the fight’s still on // The line’s not cut, and the whale’s not gone // The Wellerman makes his regular call // To encourage the captain, crew and all

I don’t do sea shanties, but this one is so good!! Occasionally there are these gorgeous gems on TikTok that spill over to YouTube.

I literally cannot get this song out of my head.

Born Again || Newsboys
I didn’t wanna fall // But I don’t have to crawl // I met the One with two scarred hands

When this song first came on, I didn’t like the verses too much. Then, the chorus exploded onto the scene and I fell hard! ๐Ÿ˜

Heart of Stone || Britt Nicole
Crash like broken glass shattered on the floor // Finally a victory I’ve never felt before

The beginning of this song was pretty strange, but the more I listen, the more it grows on me.

Dance Monkey || Tones and I
Just like a monkey I’ve been dancing my whole life // But you just beg to see me dance just one more time

The title caught me off guard, but I do really enjoy this song. So many fantastic remixes!!

Headphones || Britt Nicole
Her mom says she’s great // The kids think she’s weird // Honestly she wish she could disappear

One of my friends said she didn’t really enjoy this song, so I listened to it to see why she didn’t like it. I’m still not sure why she doesn’t like it.

Holiday (MyKidBrother Remix) || Britt Nicole
No more drama to mess up my flow // No more questions to answer, no

The siren sounds at the beginning are….odd to say the least, but I like the tune XD

Ignition (Hot Wired Remix) || TobyMac
So don’t blink when you wanna come cross the border // Take a look around or come test the water

The original Ignition wasn’t my favorite but I absolutely love the differences in this one!! Plus, that piano in the last chorus is gorgeous!!

Gotta Go || TobyMac
Tobymac can’t get to the phone // Please leave a message after the tone

I didn’t like this song at first, but it’s growing on me. Plus, little Tru!! So precious!!

Keep Goin’ (feat. Capital Kings) || Group 1 Crew
Goin’ goin’ goin’ goin’ // I recommend, don’t follow no trend

This is one of the newer Group 1 Crew songs, written after Blanca left the group. I wasn’t sure if it would be that great, but I was not disappointed!! Ahh, I love Group 1 Crew so much!!!

Gold || Owl City
I don’t need the stars in the night // I found my treasure

Guys. I am so obsessed with this song. I’ve been listening to it for the majority of this blog post. It matches two of my characters so well and GAH I love it so much!! Plus, Adam Young’s voice is really unique. It adds a beautiful color to the tune.

The Bees are Coming || elybeatmaker and Cubfan
The bees are coming // The bees!

Dibby Dibby Diamonds || elybeatmaker and Grian
Dibby dibby diamonds // Good luck remixing that one!

Dragon Bros || elybeatmaker and Iskall85
Chick-chica chica chica dragon bros!

Guinea Pig Dance || elybeatmaker and Grian
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo // Guinea Pig Dance!

Okay, may as well dump the last of these songs here XD Seriously, Hermitcraft remixes are the best!!

Way Beyond Myself || Newsboys
Like the wind that moves the leaves // Lord, You move me to my knees // Even into something way beyond myself

This one reminds me of Born Again, but….better. Don’t question me. I’m weird.

Stories (Down to the Bottom) || TobyMac
We’ve been down to the bottom // Stories we got ’em, when we hit rock bottom

The tune is the main reason I love this song.

Let it Roll || Group 1 Crew
Feel the rhythm in your soul // And all your worries, let them go

This song is so unbelievably upbeat, and always energizes me!! Plus, it feels so different in several places. It really adds to the song!

This category is a mix of Christian love, God’s love and romantic love.

His Kind of Love (Capital Kings Remix) || Group 1 Crew
Tell me what kind of God would choose to save // The bruised, the broken, the sinners, the runaways

What kind of God would choose to save such horrible sinners? God’s love is incredible.

I prefer the remixed version of this song to the original because I really enjoy Capital Kings’ songwriting style.

Nothin’ on You || Hollyn
Might have a million dollars in the bank // Thirty cars with the yacht on the lake // Just ’cause you got it don’t mean you gotta flaunt it // He’s the one who paid the price, yeah, He got it

The love of Jesus trumps the love of any guy here on earth. *shakes finger* Remember that, you little whippersnappers.

๐Ÿ˜‚ I’m such a nut!

Bella || Jamie Grace
When You call me Your bella // I know I’m Your mija

Spanish! I love Spanish, and it fits so well in this song!!

Only Love || Jordan Feliz
Someone say amen // If you know what I’m talking about

One of a Kind || Jamie Grace
To You I’m not as crazy as I think

I am as crazy as I think, but God loves me anyway! (Thank goodness!)

I’ll Wait || The Strumbellas
I’ll wait, I’ll wait to be the one // To catch you when you’re falling

Liesl just introduced me to this song today, and I love it!! The tune and the lyrics work together so well!!

Is….is that really the end?

*wipes brow* Guys, this post took me four days to write. I loved every second, but….yeesh XD

If you want to take on this tag for yourself, I’d love to see it! I really enjoyed raving about all of these songs!!

Do you know any of these songs? Which ones are your favorites?

Thanks for sitting through this entire post ๐Ÿ˜…

The Sunshine Blogger Award ~ In Which I Answer More Questions About Myself

Guess what guys! I got tagged for another award! This is my *checks papers* third award?!! Wow! I never expected to be tagged for three awards so early on in blogging!

The wonderful Ananya tagged me for this award and I can’t wait to answer her questions! So, without further ado, let’s get started!!

The Rules Boring Stuffs

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog. โœ”

2. Answer all the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you. โœ”

3. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions. โœ”

4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your blog post. โœ”

Now, on to the questions!!

1. What’s Your Pet Peeve?

I have so many pet peeves over so many random things.

I really hate when people spell words wrong. That just….really gets on my nerves for some reason. I can also be pretty OCD about things. Like, take a Christmas tree. If the ornaments aren’t spread equally over the tree, I just….*inhales deeply*…..I have to leave the room for a bit XD

2. Name Your Favorite Music Artists (Any Genre).

Oh, now you’re asking for it!

TobyMac, Hollyn, Jamie Grace, Group 1 Crew, Britt Nicole, Jordan Feliz, Newsboys, Francesca Battistelli, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Owl City, Imagine Dragons, for KING & COUNTRY, Superchic(k), The Script, elybeatmaker (I am not sorry), Casting Crowns, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Capital Kings, and a sprinkle of others that I’ve only heard one or two songs from.

There’s probably others that I can’t think of right now.

I’ll post more about songs and songwriters next week, so yeah, stay tuned for that if you want to hear me ramble about my favorite subject EVER.

3. Describe Yourself in Three Words.

Just three? Why not twelve paragraphs plus footnotes?

Just kidding!

Optimisticcrazywriterperson, Kindofgetsdepressedsometimes, Togetherslapperofwords

There. Three words.

4. Whatโ€™s Your Favorite Book?

Percy Jackson.

No specific book, just PERCY JACKSON

5. Tea or Coffee?

6. Whoโ€™s Your Role Model?

For what field of life? Because I have several.

Writing: Rick Riordan and Andrew Peterson

I look up to Rick Riordan because of his incredible writing voice. The way he describes things is amazing! I’ve been kind of studying his descriptions so I can improve. This is how I learn things. I study on my own time ๐Ÿ˜…

I look up to Andrew Peterson because of the story development he did before he started writing The Wingfeather Saga. He wrote the history of his fantasy land, Aerwiar, before he started writing the actual books so that he could understand how to write about it. That’s dedication right there, and I can appreciate dedication like that.

Songwriting: Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, TobyMac, and Francesca Battistelli

I look up to Benj Pasek and Justin Paul because OH MY GOODNESS THEIR MUSIC IS AMAZING!!!! But, they are also so incredibly talented at writing inspirational songs. Music has incredible power when used right, and having an understanding of that power is what makes a talented songwriter.

I look up to TobyMac because he is one of the oldest artists I can remember listening to on a regular basis. My dad has listened to his music as far back as I can remember, and there’s just something about Toby’s music. Some of the genres he sings in I wouldn’t listen to but because they’re TobyMac songs that just makes them…..better, I guess. Considering what he’s been through in the past couple of years, the fact that he is still singing songs that are Biblically correct is impressive, especially when several artists are now turning away from the doctrine that they’ve been preaching for years.

I look up to Francesca Battistelli because of the way her songs are written. They’re so pretty and they have such great lyrics! Not to mention, her voice is beautiful!!

I also look up to several other artists, but this might get kind of long if I keep going. ๐Ÿ˜…

Acting: Phillipa Soo and Tom Hiddleston

I look up to Phillipa Soo because, ever since I started listening to Hamilton, she’s always been one of my favorite actresses. They way she conveys emotion is amazing. Putting full passion into sadness can be hard sometimes, but she does it so beautifully and gracefully.

I look up to Tom Hiddleston for some of the same reasons I look up to Phillipa Soo. I’ve only seen one Thor movie, but I could see the depth behind Loki’s character that Tom Hiddleston portrayed so delicately. It only took all that feeling to turn Loki into my favorite Marvel character. No, I’m not a Loki fangirl, what are you talking about?

And then, of course, I look up to the wonderful friends and family that I’ve been blessed with. I take influence from waaaay too many places to list here, but this is just a choice few.

7. Whatโ€™s Your Favorite Quote?

It’s on the home page of my blog:

Be yourself, because everyone else is already taken.

Oscar Wilde

I don’t know what it is about this quote, but it is so beautiful.

I also like this one:

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.

Bil Keane

And yes, before you start typing, I already know that this quote is also from Kung Fu Panda. Let’s just ignore that, please.

8. Whoโ€™s Your Favorite Blogger?(You Canโ€™t Name YOURSELF Like I Did Last Time)

Ha, even if I could name myself, I wouldn’t, even though I do enjoy my posts XD

No, my favorite blogger is Allison @ A Farm Girl’s Life. Her photography is incredible and I love reading her posts!

9. What Are Those Things Which Will Never Change in Your Lifetime?

What do you mean by this question? Do you mean things about me or things about the world around me?

*waits for answer*

Oh right, she can’t hear me.

I’ll just list things about myself.

I know that my silliness and love of singing will never change. I will always love my family, no matter what happens. I will always have crazy, random ideas popping into my head. And of course, most importantly, I will always love and trust in the Lord, because I know He will always take care of me.

10. Choose One: Hollywood or Bollywood

11. Whatโ€™s the Color of Your Soul?

Is this a personality quiz thing?

*searches Google* Ooh, it is! I love personality quizzes!

*takes quiz*

Your soul is both serene and radiant. Its lovely green and golden hues make it the perfect shade of chartreuse. When you are with your friends, they can feel your inner warmth encompassing them, and they always feel more enlightened when they leave. You are a true gem in the soul department, and you should flaunt your soul’s color every chance you get.

That’s what I got. Yeah, sure, that’s definitely me. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I took another test and it gave me Indigo, but that definitely didn’t suit me.

Eh, personality quizzes rarely ever label me correctly. I think the only personality quizzes to label me correctly was the Official Godly Parent Quiz on the Percy Jackson website, and the MBTI quiz.

That was fun though!

Maya @ Maya Joelle

Allison @ A Farm Girl’s Life

Diamond @ I Have 12% of a Plan

Bea @ The Beahive

Emily @ Emily Bianchini

Aaaand….yeah, that’s it ๐Ÿ˜… I really don’t feel like tagging eleven bloggers. So, five it is!

My Questions:

1. If you had to talk for fifteen minutes about something, what would it be?

2. Are you more of a girly-girl or a tomboy?

3. What are your favorite girl or boy names?

4. Do you have any hidden talents?

5. What are your thoughts on social media?

6. Do you prefer real books, e-books, or audiobooks?

7. What is one unpopular opinion you have?

8. What is your love language?

9. Do you put water on your toothbrush before or after the toothpaste?

10. Do you imagine shapes, numbers, days of the week to have colors or personalities?

11. What is the view out the nearest window?

Hope you guys enjoyed this award!

Thanks for reading!!

The Outstanding Original Blogger Award ~ In Which I am Apparently Outstanding

I don’t know why, but the size and shape of that banner thingy is really annoying me

Not too long ago, I was scrolling through a post on one of the blogs I follow, when I saw my name. Intrigued, I scrolled back up, and realized that I was tagged. Now that I was a little more invested in the post, I went back through and read the whole thing. That was when I realized that not only had I been tagged for a blog tag, it was an award!

So, thank you, Bea, for tagging me for this award! Let’s get started!!

  1. Provide the link to the creatorโ€™s original award post (Here it is)
  2. Answer the questions provided
  3. Create 7 unique questions
  4. Nominate 10 bloggers. Ensure that they are aware of their nomination. Neither the awardโ€™s creator, nor the blogger that nominated you can be nominated.
  5. At the end of 2021, every blog that pingbacks the creatorโ€™s original post will be entered to win the 2021 Outstanding Blogger award.

Alright, now that all that boring stuff is out of the way, let’s move on to the fun stuff: the questions!!

1. What Is Your Favorite Hobby?

Oh boy.

If anyone knows me, they know that this is a loaded question XD The amount of hobbies I have is ridiculous.

I love scrapbooking, because putting pictures and journaling on a page to preserve memories is so much fun. My family has been scrapbooking for almost my whole life, and I love looking at all the pictures.

I also enjoy writing songs, because there’s nothing quite like putting melodies and harmonies and stories and accompaniments together to make something that might touch someone’s life.

And I love to write and sing and act and a bunch of other stuff.

I guess I really don’t have a “favorite” hobby. I love them all!

2. Have You Ever Dyed Your Hair?

No, I haven’t, but I would like to one day. Maybe highlights or tips?

If I were to dye it, I’m not sure what color I would get. Literally everyone says purple (including the personality quizzes I took!) but I would also love to have blue.

3. What Is an Abnormal Fear You Have?

I used to be paranoid of bugs crawling into my ears. Still am, to be honest, although not quite as much. I was a strange child.

4. Do You Like Asparagus?

Yeah, I love asparagus!! Archibald, Junior, and them. They’re great!

*director rushes in*

Oh yeah, okay.

*whispers again*

*director nods, rushes off again*

No, I hate asparagus. It tastes nasty. And the texture….*shivers*

5. Scrunchies, Yay or Nay?

I used to have a scrunchie that I wore on my wrist for no reason whatsoever.

Then the rubber band snapped, and I was very sadz.

6. What, In Your Opinion, Is the Point of Life?

*exhales* Um….okay.

I think the purpose of life is to love and serve God. No one knows the real reason He put us on this earth, but our existence is not pointless, and never will be. It’s up to God to decide what we are here for. He loves all of his children and wants them to love Him back.

*wipes brow*

That was an unexpected question. Is the next one more lighthearted?

7. Do You Use Text Abbreviations While Actually Texting?

Yeah, this is definitely a lot more lighthearted.

I don’t text, mainly because I don’t have a phone, but if I did text, there would be little to no abbreviations. I prefer proper grammar 98% of the time.

So yeah.

My Questions:

  1. If You Had an Unlimited Amount of Candy For a Day, How Much Would You Eat?
  2. Does Anyone in Your Family Scrapbook?
  3. Do You Like to Sing?
  4. Do You Know Your Vocal Range?
  5. Are You Homeschooled, or Have You Been? What Did You Take From it?
  6. What is Your Dream Job?
  7. What Was Your Favorite TV Show When You Were Younger?

My Nominees:

Liesl @ Quote, Unquote

Maya @ Maya Joelle

Chloe @ Chloe Mali

Essie @ Esther Josephine Writes

Allison @ A Farm Girl’s Life

Diamond @ I Have 12% of a Plan

Mary @ Wild Writing Dreams

Sarah @ The Sarcastic Elf

Meredith @ Artsy Arrow

Danny @ The Right Kind of Writer

I hope you guys enjoyed reading my answers to Bea’s questions!

The Narnia Blog Tag ~ In Which I Try to Remember Details About the Series

When I was younger, my mom read a chapter from the Narnia books every day as part of school. Sometimes she would let me or my brother read it so she could rest her voice. Those days were special because we learned a lot about C. S. Lewis’s world. It was fun to find the parallels between Narnia and the Bible! However, we started to get bored of that around the…..third book. In my opinion, the quality just started going down after The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe. By the time we got to The Last Battle, my mom was just reading it by herself ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Still, we were still pretty big Narnia fans, and the whole “going to Narnia” by getting in a closet joke stands to this day XD

So, without further ado, I give you the Narnia Tag!!

I was tagged by my friend Josie @ Apple Blossoms to do this blog!! So, let’s get started!!

Just in case you’re one of those people who reads the rules XD

  1. Thank the person who nominated you โœ”
  2. Describe the rate of your Narnia fanatic (nostalgic, serious, or maniacal) โœ”
  3. Answer the questions below โœ”
  4. Tag 5+ bloggers
  5. Have fun! โœ”

The Rate of Narnia Fanatics:

  1. Nostalgic Fanaticโ€”You read the books and/or watched the movies as a child and the word Narnia gives you a warm feeling.
  2. Serious Fanaticโ€”You rediscovered the wonder of Narnia after you were older and have read the books and watched the movies.
  3. Maniacal Fanaticโ€”You have lived Narnia from childhood, hid in closets on more accounts than is healthy, have read and watched all the movies including the BBC version.

I’m…actually a blend of all three. I read the books when I was younger, and watched the movies after I got older. I still read the books every now and then. And then, of course, I’ve hid in plenty of closets. (I remember once, I was mad at one of my friends, and told her to go to Narnia XP I wonder if she remembers that XD) I didn’t know there were BBC movies though. *shrugs* You learn something new every day.

1. Who Is Your Favorite Pevensie Sibling?

From the beginning of Narnia, Susan has always been my favorite. The amount of fanart I drew for her, the amount of time I spent fangirling over her, the amount of OneNote spreads I dedicated to her (I was strange)……she was my favorite, and honestly still is. I think it’s her bow. *nods*

2. What Is the Most Underrated Book in the Series?

*blushes* Um….I wouldn’t know. Although not a lot of people seem to have heard of The Magician’s Nephew (which is my favoriteeeeee). If you haven’t read it GO READ IT. It’s the start of Narnia! The creation of the world we all know and love!

Okay, moving on.

3. Who Is Your Favorite Narnian King?

Hooboy. There’s a lot to choose from.

*sits here for 20 minutes trying to remember all the kings*

*is about to say Aslan*

*remembers another*

The cabby guy!! He’s from The Magician’s Nephew. He becomes the first king of Narnia, after Aslan. Love that guy.

4. Who Is Your Favorite Narnian Queen?

Well, the cabby’s wife, obviously! She seems like a nice person!

5. Which Non-Human Narnian Do You Like?

Oof. There’s a lot to choose from.

I like the beavers from The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe. They make me laugh every time XD

6. Which Book Deserves a Movie?

7. What Is One Thing You Did As a Narnia Fanatic That You Do Not Regret?

Commanding my friend to get in the closet, as I’ve mentioned before.

Man, I’m a nut XD

I’m not sure who’s done this and who hasn’t and who’s already been tagged, so I’m just not going to tag anyone.

I’m a rebel.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know your thoughts down below!!

Also, let me know if you’ve ever commanded a friend to go to Narnia so I know I’m not alone in this XD

Thanks for reading!!

The Liebster Award ~ In Which I Won an Award!!

I definitely wasn’t expecting to get tagged for an award so early on in my blogging career. I say career. It really isn’t XD

But, Hannah @ Precarious Book Stacks was kind enough to nominate me, and then Maya @ Maya Joelle nominated me as well! Who am I to ignore that?

Let’s get started, shall we?

1. Thank the person who nominated you, include a link to their blog, and add the Liebster Award badge to your blog and/or post. โœ”

2. Answer the eleven questions from the person who nominated you. โœ”

3. Give eleven random facts about yourself. โœ”

4. Nominate 5-11 fellow bloggers. โœ”

5. Notify your nominees that you nominated them for the Liebster Award. โœ”

6. Ask your nominees eleven questions. โœ”

Hannah’s Questions:

1. What Was the First Story You Wrote About?

I was five when I wrote my first story, so it was a little rough.

Actually, before I tell you what the story was about, some context.

My cousin, who has always been one of my very best friends, was over at my house (which didn’t doesn’t happen often) and we were watching Blue’s Clues, because that was my brother’s thing, and we were pretty bored. In the episode, Blue and Magenta were writing secret letters to each other, and I really liked that for some reason. After the episode finished, I dragged my cousin to my room, grabbed a stack of paper, and started writing a secret letter. She did the same. It was a story about her and Blue. She worked at a dog “fram” (farm) and Blue was one of the dogs there. She really liked Blue, and hid her whenever people came to get a dog. And then, at the end of the book, “she got Blue, her favorite dog”.

Unfortunately, she had to leave before I finished, but I finished it anyway and kept it. I still have it to this day, although it’s in pretty sad shape. After that, I don’t really remember how the rest of the stories I wrote came about, but I remember that one vividly.

*shrugs* My memory is strange.

2. What Is the Weirdest Thing Youโ€™ve Had To Research For a Book?

I’m not sure. I’ve researched a lot of things. Let me go browse my search history.

So, my search history won’t let me scroll any further than a week ago, so I’ll just go off the top of my head.

I had to research pregnancy symptoms and stomach size and other random pregnancy stuff for a segment in my NaNo novel, which was about Mary, the mother of Jesus. The Google staff must have thought I was pregnant ๐Ÿ˜… (I’m not XP)

3. Do You Enjoy Math?

Next question.

4. Do You Like Grammar?

I am a grammar Nazi that doesn’t pay that much attention to grammar, if that makes any sense at all.

So yeah, I like grammar, but it depends on what kind of mood I’m in. More often than not, my friends have corrected my grammar, to which I respond, “I’m Southern. Grammar don’t matter down here.”

I mean, it kind of does. But who talks properly anymore?

5. If You Had To Stop Writing, What Would You Do Instead?

Well, actually, I figured that out about a year and a half ago. I’m going to do musical theatre!!

*glances at your stunned faces*

What, you couldn’t already figure that out?

I do love writing, but it’s not my passion. I’ve been acting almost as long as I’ve been writing. (I started acting nine months after I wrote my first story) I love acting, singing, playing instruments etc. so I decided that this is what I want to do. With God’s allowance, of course!

But, writing is definitely something I want to do as well. After all, I have several great ideas that just need to be fleshed out a little! The publishing world will eat them up!

Heaven help us all

6. What Is the Most Random Thing You Have Witnessed In This Crazy World of Ours?

Now why on earth would you go and ask this question?!! I have a hard time remembering this kind of thing. I know there’s some kind of bizarre thing that has happened, but now I can’t think of anything.

I got chased by a flock of chickens once.

Oh! Wait! Our cats like to sit in the cat bowls. Just chill in their bowls. They’re so weird.

Yeah, those aren’t that great.

My memory doesn’t want to listen to me right now.

7. Would You Rather Write With a Cup of Tea And Cozy Blankets or Outside With a Light Breeze And Sunshine?

I’m an inside kind of person, so…..cozy blanket, although I don’t do tea. Maybe……Kool-Aid? Sure, Kool-Aid sounds good. Then, the Kool-Aid man would bust through my wall and we’d do a little dance, then I’d have to spend thousands of dollars getting my wall fixed.

It’s worth it for the little dance, though, right?

8. Give Us One Random Blog Post or Story Idea Youโ€™ve Had For a While, But It Probably Wonโ€™t Turn Into Anything.

Ooh! I like this question!

For awhile, I’ve been wanting to write a short story series about wolves, and I started it several months ago, but from the beginning, it seemed a lot like the Warriors series, so I gave up pretty quickly. I might revisit it, I don’t know.

9. What Is a Random Quirk Your Sibling/Family Has?

Oh boy.

I have three sisters and four brothers and they all have random quirks.

*chooses random sibling*

My sister is horse OBSESSED. She pretends almost everything is a horse. The arm of the couch, her bed, her camping chair, nothingness…..literally EVERYTHING. Thank goodness she’s taking riding lessons. Otherwise, the CEILING FAN would be a horse, I’m sure.

Also, when we’re sleep-deprived, we laugh about almost everything.

No joke.

Sometimes we get in trouble for laughing XD

10. If You Could Learn Any Musical Instrument Right Now, What Instrument Would You Choose?

Just….right now? No endless practicing, no injured fingers, no bursted lungs, none of that? I just know it without the painful stuff that comes with learning it?

Well, I play piano, ukulele, and flute, but not very well. I would like to be able to play ukulele a lot better, since I can only play, like, eight chords. And for flute, I need a lot more lung power. I’m pretty good at piano, but I’m not exceptional.

If I have to choose a completely new instrument, I’d like to know how to play cello. It’s so pretty! The sax is cool, though. Clarinet is pretty special to me, even though I can’t play it one bit.

Wait, how could I forget guitar? That’s something I’ve wanted to learn for awhile, but it hurtssssss and it’s so hardddddd.

So yeah.

11. What Is One Hobby You Want to Try?

Well, I like bullet journaling but I just can’t get into the habit of doing it every day. But, I’ve already done it before, so I guess that doesn’t count.

Cross-stitch looks like fun, and I’ve done a tiny bit. I really want to do it more, but my mom doesn’t have to time to teach me. Still, the feeling of pulling a needle through the fabric is pretty cool.

Maya’s Questions:

1. What Is Your Favorite Summertime Drink?

A nice cold cup of water. No ice, though. Ice makes it too cold.

2. Have You Ever Met Someone Whose First Language Was Not English (Or Was Your First Language Not English)? What Was That Like?

Okay, I really like this question.

My sister’s friend, Rebecca, is half-Mexican. Her dad is the pastor for Spanish church, and I’m pretty sure his first language is Spanish. He’s preached at our church a couple of times, and if he gets too excited, he starts preaching in Spanish! Most of the people in his family don’t speak any English, so he has to translate for them, which is pretty cool! Spanish is such a pretty language!

3. Do You Fluently Speak Any Language Other Than Your First? Which One? Howโ€™d You Learn It?

I do indeed. It is the language of sarcasm, that I picked up from various places. *nods*

LOL, I’m just kidding, although I’m great at being sarcastic. I can more or less speak (or…not?) American Sign Language. I’m learning it for school, and it’s so much fun! Sign language has always been one of my favorite languages.

This talk of speaking ASL is confusing me. Let’s move on.

4. Have You Ever Made Up a Language, Or Do You Want To?

Let me tell you, the ability to speak in a language that literally no one else knows would be amazing. I actually started making a language for one of my books, and it kind of died. *is now inspired to pick it back up*

5. Is It Snowy Where You Live?

Heck no.

6. What Song Did You Last Listen To? Did You Like It?

Well, Supernatural by DC Talk just went off. And now I’m listening to an ad. Fun stuff.

I’d say I liked it. It has a thumbs-up, so….most likely? XD

7. Would You Rather Be Lizzy Bennett (Pride and Prejudice) Or Peter Parker (Spider-Man)? (Ignore Whether Youโ€™re the Same Gender For This Question And Just Think About the Situation/Personality.)

Is this question a sign that I need to finish my school assignment of reading Pride and Prejudice? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Just kidding!

Spider-Man definitely. I’ve always loved him, and having his abilities would be SICK, YO!!

8. Have You Ever Been to Michigan? If So, What Did You Think of It?

*sobs* I have not been to Michigan, but several of my friends live there, so I’m going up there one day! For sure!

9. Favorite Non-Official Holiday? (For Example, Mine Is Maple Sugar Fest.)

National Donut Day, which is sometime in November, I think. I didn’t hear about it until last year, and I love donuts, so this should have been in my life sooner.

10. Does Your Church Follow the Liturgical Calendar?

The….the what? Hold on.

Ah, the calendar for all the feasts and stuff.

No. No we do not.

11. Do You Like Being Asked About Your Future Plans? Why or Why Not?

Are people supposed to be asking me about my future plans? I don’t think anyone’s asked me about my plans for awhile, besides my mom, who just wanted to know if I was still interested in musical theatre.

Do I Have That Book? Challenge ~ In Which I Attempt to Have That Book

Soooo…..I’ve once again broken the rules on a blog tag. I wasn’t tagged for this.

Now, before you place your hands on your hips and shake a finger at me for being such a naughty girl, LET ME JUST SAY that my best friend, Liesl, did this post, and left it open for anyone. So, I saw an opportunity, and took it.

Now, take those hands off of your hips!

Also, I was supposed to time myself while I looked for these books, but…..what’s the point? Why would I want to do that? I pretty much have my whole bookshelf memorized.

So, without further ado, let’s see if I have that book!!!

1. A Book With Tattered Edges

Not gonna lie, I actually had to get up and go check my bookshelf for a book with tattered edges. *facepalm* All that talk about having my bookshelf memorized…..

Anyways, I came up with this:

These Happy Golden Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder

This is my favorite book by Laura Ingalls Wilder, and I’ve read it more than all the others. However, we have an old box set of the series, and the pages are yellowed and brittle, which means they tear easily. I’ve read this book so much, half of the cover is ripped off, several pages are torn or falling out, and the spine is bent.

What can I say? It’s a great book!

2. A Book With 3+ People on the Cover

Okay, this time I didn’t have to check my bookshelf.

The Warden And the Wolf King by Andrew Peterson

My dad, who is a massive Andrew Peterson fan, bought these books for me and my brother. I haven’t actually read this one yet, but it’s on my shelf. I can count the little wolf boy Kalmar (who is still Tink to me) as a human, right?

3. A Book Based on Another Fictional Story

Had to check my bookshelf again.

The Olympians Series by George O’Connor

When I read this series, I was impressed by George O’Connor’s masterful retellings of the Greek myths. (If you know me, you know that I LOOOOVE Greek mythology) He weaved several of the myths into a seamless story, with each book focusing on a god or goddess. Plus, his artwork is INCREDIBLE. Just look at this!! What a masterpiece!

4. A Book With a Ten-Letter-Long Title

Google is my friend when I’m too lazy to walk to my room.

Ember Falls by S.D. Smith

Yeah, I haven’t read this one either. Still working on the first book in this series. Also, those rabbits have incredibly human-like hands. This concerns me.

5. A Book With a Title That Starts And Ends With the Same Letter

Ah, young love.

Elsie’s True Love by Martha Finley. Adapted by Mission City Press.

The Elsie Dinsmore series was written in the 1860s, and a publishing company took the original manuscripts and rewrote them for us millenials. Wasn’t that thoughtful? Elsie is a Christian girl growing up in the Antebellum South without anyone to love her except her Heavenly Father. She goes through some hard times, but this book is by far my favorite.

What can I say? I’m a romantic!!

My sister and I have been slowly collecting the entire series over the years. We’re only missing one book.

6. A Mass-Market Paperback

See, I’m not sure about this one. I have several books that are 4″ x 7″, but Google isn’t clear on what exactly a mass-market paperback is.

So, I guess I’ll pass on this one.

7. A Book by an Author With a Pen-Name

*Googles several books*

The Secret of the Old Clock by Carolyn Keene

Considering how “Carolyn Keene” is still writing books to this day, I think it’s safe to say that she does not exist. I discovered this fact awhile back and was shocked to the core.

Sorry. Teenager rants.

8. A Book With a Character’s Name in the Title

*tries not to choose an Elsie book* *halfway succeeds*

Millie’s Unsettled Season by Martha Finley. Adapted by Mission City Press.

This is another 1860s book, written and adapted by the same people. Millie lives in the Antebellum North, and is actually Elsie’s cousin. She has to move from Lansdale, Ohio to the frontier in Indiana.

I can’t stand Millie because she deals with so many problems (even though we’re both the oldest of eight), but she is more relatable than Elsie. If any of you guys know both characters, I’d be interested in hearing your opinions.

9. A Book With Two Maps

Why would there be a book with two maps?!!! THAT’S OVERKILL probably.

Hold on, let me check.

*elevator music*

*Jeopardy! music*

Well, what do you know!

I do have a book with two maps!!

On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness by Andrew Peterson

One in the front, and one in the back!

*laughs nervously* So…two maps is cool, right?

10. A Book That’s Been Turned Into a TV Show

*desperately does not want to say Anne of Green Gables*

*also doesn’t want to say Nancy Drew*

*or Little House on the Prairie*

Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne

This book has been made into a series of movies by Disney, and they used to have a show on Disney Jr. called “My Friends Tigger and Pooh”

(It’s horrible. Don’t watch it.)

11. A Book By an Author Famous For Something Other Than Or In Addition to Writing

Oh my word. This is going to take some thinking.

Heehee….see what I did there? Huh? Heh heh.

The Secret Thoughts of and Unlikely Convert by Rosaria Butterfield

I’m not sure how well this counts, but Rosaria Butterfield was a pretty famous English professor before she started writing.

12. A Book With a Clock on the Cover

Oh, wait.

I should have put that Nancy Drew book here instead of up there.

One sec.

The Mandie Collection Volume Two by Lois Gladys Leppard

So, this is technically my sister’s book, but it’s on my shelf, so it counts. And, there’s not necessarily a clock on the cover, but they’re inside a clock. It counts, right?

13. A Book of Poetry

Childcraft Collection Volume One: Poems From Early Childhood

The Childcraft collection was my mom’s, then she passed them down to me. This book is full of nursery rhymes, and it’s pretty old. See if you can guess which nursery rhymes/fairy tales are pictured on the cover!

(I don’t even know all of them)

14. A Book With an Award Stamp on the Cover

Um….actually, I’m not sure about this one…..

So, I just spent five minutes scouring all my books, and NOT ONE has an award stamp.

However, we mostly have paperback books, and the ones that are hardback are missing the jackets, so I could be wrong.

Oh well.

15. A Book Whose Author Has the Same Initials as You

This should be fun.

Okay, I’ve been sitting here for ten minutes, trying to think of any authors that match my initials, browsing every single book in our house, and nothing. *shrugs* Oh well.

16. A Short Story Collection

Aha, again!

Childcraft Collection Volume Four: Animal Friends and Adventures

Another Childcraft book! This time, it’s a collection of short stories. Pretty good, if I do say so myself.

17. A Book That Is 500-510 Pages Long

Uggggh. BRB.

So. I have books that are 580 pages long. I have books that are 300 pages long. I have books that are 498 pages long! And yet, this is the closest I could find.

Stories for Girls: Classic Tales to Treasure

This is an anthology of short stories and novel excerpts. I’ve had it for several years, and THAT COVER IS JUST GORGEOUS OH MY GOODNESS

It’s 512 pages, but that’s close enough, right?

18. A Book That’s Been Turned Into a Movie

A movie, you say?

The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom

I’ve never seen the actual movie, but I would like to. I mean, this book is fantastic! I was just in awe when I read it for the first time. Incredibly inspiring.

19. A Graphic Novel

Hmm….the Olympians series would fit here, wouldn’t it?

Hermes: Tales of the Trickster by George O’Connor

Seriously, I can’t rave over these books enough!!

20. A Book Written by Two or More Authors

The Entire Childcraft Series

Does this suffice?

What are y’all’s thoughts on my list of books? Do you have any of them? Let me know! I’d love to chat!

Thanks for reading!

The Blogmas Tag ~ In Which We Learn That I Can’t Follow Rules

Eek! I almost missed my posting day! That would have been bad!

I was tagged by the lovely Mary @ Wild Writing Dreams for my very first BLOG TAGGGGG!!!!! You guys have no idea how happy I was to be tagged! So, Happy New Year, and let’s do a Christmas tag!

Also, I fell asleep at 3 in the morning, so sorry about the ramblyness.

The Rules

1. Thank the person who tagged you and link to their post. โœ”

2. Put the rules after the introduction. โœ”

3. Answer the 12 questions. โœ”

4. Tag 12 people to do the tag. (Ehe, no, sorry. I don’t know enough bloggers to tag XD)

5. Create all new questions of your own to ask the people you tag. (Since I’m not tagging, no need to come up with new questions, right?)

ANYWAYS, now that we all know I’m a rulebreaker, let’s get started!

1. What Is a Go-To Christmas Drink For You?

Hmm…..I really don’t drink anything different than what I drink throughout the year.

Water. Just straight water.

I’m exciting.

2. What is Your Favorite Christmas Movie?

DEFINITELY a Charlie Brown Christmas. I mean, PEANUTS

I’ve literally read almost every single Peanuts comic strip in existence, and I love them so much! The Christmas movies are amazing, and we watch them every year!

3. Whatโ€™s One Tradition You Have During Christmastime or on Christmas Itself?

Um…..we have a lot of Christmas traditions…..I think my favorite is…..going out to look at lights on Christmas Eve, and opening one present before bed.

Or, maybe it’s when all my siblings come to my room and wait for our parents to wake up, which isn’t really a tradition per se, but it happens every year.

4. Top Favorite Christmas Song?

Haha, I already have a post about my favorite Christmas songs here. Of course, I’ve heard more Christmas songs since then, so that isn’t a completely accurate post, right now, but it’s mostly accurate.

5. Do You Do Any Special Christmas Activities (ex: Elf on the Shelf, Kris Kringle, etc.)?

OH, wait, yes we do!!

We have a pickle ornament, and, before we open presents, someone hides it in the tree, and the first person to find it gets to open the first present! It’s a lot of fun, and sometimes the searches go on for 10+ minutes!

6. Do You Get a Tree For Christmas? And If So, Is It Real or Artificial?

Yes, we get a tree every year, usually on the day after Thanksgiving. It’s ALWAYS a live tree, because we would throw a fit if we had to get an artificial tree. Usually, we have a hard time deciding which tree to get, but it’s always special setting up the tree and hanging all the ornaments.

7. What Is the Coolest Christmas Gift You’ve Ever Given to Someone?

Um….well….I made scrapbooks for my siblings this past Christmas. That was a challenge.

8. Do You Have Any Kind of Special Food You Eat During December or on Christmas?

We have donuts and pigs-in-a-blanket for breakfast every Christmas morning. I can’t remember a time we didn’t have it. Plus, that’s usually the only time we have those things, which is nice.

9. What Holiday Dessert Would Best Describe You And Why?

My, my, this most certainly is an interesting question. This should be fun to answer.

*thinks hard*

I think I’m most like banana pudding. Not because it describes me, but because I really like it.

Okay, fine, I’ll do it for real.

Probably gingerbread cookies, because I’m spicy and sweet, and you only see me once a year.

Okay, maybe not that last part, but you get my drift.

10. What Are Your Thoughts On Snow?

Snow? What’s snow? Is it that wet, powdery stuff that I’ve only experienced three times in my life? That snow?

It sure don’t snow much in Georgia, so I LOVE the snow.

I’ve never made a snow angel. Or a proper snowman. I’m a disgrace.

11. Do You Own an Ugly Christmas Sweater, And If So, Describe It And/Or Take a Picture To Show Everyone!

Alas, I do not have an ugly sweater. I should get one.

12. If You Could Have One Wish Granted At Christmas, What Would It Be?

To get all the things on my list (all of them), or for it to snow. I think the latter is probably the most probable.

So, what’d you guys think? Do y’all agree with my answers? What would you have answered? I’m interested in hearing!

If there’s any kind of post you’d like to see in 2021, let me know, and I’ll try my best to write it!

Thanks for reading! See you next week!
